This is my Am Staff, pit bull, furbaby, whatever you want to call him. We call him Mikey. He was adopted at ~2 years old, we have had him for ~5 years. He's a great dog, we couldn't have found a sweeter, more angelic little beast. If anyone is in the market for a dog, I always refer them to...
I'm going! :D:D:D It will be my first show, so I'll be the one with the bewildered expression, running up to every single animal and staring at it.:eek::eek:
He's a nice looking chameleon! Maybe you could suspend the bulb from the ceiling, or put the cage lower to the ground if you aren't keen on switching over to the linear bulb. Is it a clamp light you are using currently?
Nylabones are awesome. Dogs learn pretty quickly that they are the only things they are allowed to chew. If you see her starting to put anything in her mouth inappropriately, give her the nylabone, and keep one in the crate as well.
When my dog an I play rough, he will start to nibble on...
I would put her in there at night, consistently. Maybe after all the behavior issues are over, you could let her back in the bed. Remember that for dogs on the furniture and in your bed = same status as humans. I think her peeing may be a weak attempt at dominance, since she won't do it in...
Unless it's really deep, I would try neosporin or some topical cleanser and a bandage, you may have to get creative about how to hold it on. Just treat wounds like that as you would for yourself. If you see puffiness, pus, or if it feels hot then there's infection and you need a vet.
For...
Chalk up one more crate training fan. My pit terrier, or am staff, or whatever you want to call him, he's a pit bull, was adopted at age 2 and we crate trained him. Any time we are gone, and at night he is in his crate. I made it comfortable for him and put a nice bed in it (after he got...
I'm another fan of dubias. You can control how much they multiply easily, by adjusting temperature. Mine have just a light bulb, no heat pad, and they are breeding, but not much. If I need more dubias as my chams grow, I'll add a heat pad. Adults live over a year, and they will eat just...
This is important to see, that it's not just too little calcium that causes this disease.
I have a question: do bulging eyes (with the watery ballloon like appearance) typically mean MBD, if there is no other obvious indication? I saw a panther at the pet store in bad shape.
I'm going! I'm not planning on any new chams, but hubby will probably pick up a brazillian rainbow boa if we see a nice one and we will probably go home with some cricket crack and some feeders too. :) Looking forward to it!
When my cham started shedding just a few days ago, the first flakes I noticed were on his eyes and nose. Look for his color to seem more white or cloudy than normal, if it seems that way then a shed is coming soon.
How weird, my supers are always in a mix of oatmeal and wheat germ when I buy them. I keep them in a mixture at home. They seem to like digging in it, they typically stay underneath. I put fruits and veggies on top.
I hope they do! Sometimes I read some posts that make me roll my eyes, or I see a cham in bad shape when it was completely preventable. :(
As you mentioned, it all hinges on one's personal situation. If I gathered spiders around my house, I'd be a fool. I have a pest control spray put...
