Thanks. I made a background out of expanding foam many years ago using a similar method, so I may just have a stab at this when I find some suitable magnets.
So the general consensus of opinion seems to be that a metal halide fixture would be desirable, but the potential UV output of the Exo Terras is a concern.
There's also a suggestion that the Lucky Reptile bulbs may be a better choice.
I wonder whether you could use an Exo Terra fixture...
Perhaps I'm being dense or have missed something, but based on the recent discussions I'm unclear as to whether a T5 HO light fixture + appropriate heating is preferable to these new metal halide bulbs?
Does anyone have any considered views between the two, or are we still in the early days...
Wired mine up today and works fine, although it is very subtle due to the fact it's only a 5V charger with a 12V fan.

All of my experiences with Exo Terra Dual Light Canopies have been negative. I have also contacted Exo Terra recently and been advised that they are now discontinued and will not have a replacement product.
As a result, I'm looking into alternatives and T5 lighting appears to be the best way...
Hey there.
In the UK too, but currently without chameleons due to circumstance. Hopefully to be remedied in the near future.
I'm sure all of you questions have been answered many times before, so have a look around and a good read... you'll learn so much, I know I have!
