So I have roughed out a new enclosure for a future Cham. It's an Exo-terra 36x18x36. Lighting is provided by 36 inch t5 HO 8 bulb ATI power module. Background is treefern. I have various orchids and broms. I have created an exhaust system yet to be added. Misting will be provided by mistking. I have limited experience with Chameleons. I have raised pygmys in the past and bred many species of dart frogs. Tell me what you think.

For the exhaust system the bottom hole will have screen covering it and will draw air to the fan in the middle which will blow out top hole. Both will be covered with screens. I am using regular computer fans. Both the exhaust and plant holders were made out of great stuff foam carved then covered with silicon and peat moss.
Not sure exactly I was hoping to get a panther. Some people think this size cage is sufficient for that species others do not. It's basically 12 inches shorter than recommended in height but is 12 wider than recommended. I could also go for a smaller montane species if I can find a CB I like.

I would be very interested in further details around how you make your magnetic planters as I am unable to source the mass produced ones in the UK.
Sure the magnet holders are pretty simple. Buy some hydroponic baskets spray "great stuff" expanding foam around the basket. Let it dry and carve away. I remove the foam from the bottom to allow drainage. Cover with silicon and pat dry peat moss into the silicon. I use brow silicon. Not sure if you have great stuff but maybe some kind of pond foam. Insert a couple of the strongest magnets with some kind of waterproof glue and that's it.

I bet your dart frog vivs are awesome.
I'd consider it too small for a panther, but others would disagree. For me 2foot wide, 2foot deep and 4 foot high is the MINIMUM. and bigger is better.
The long stringy moss (or whatever it is) may be a health risk - if injested, might twist in intestines.
I suggest a couple Leafier plants (save the gorgeous broms for the frogs) and some horizontal branches.

Sandra thanks for the comments. I can take the Spanish moss out no problem. I do have vines for further horizontal perches I just have yet to add. Another problem I have uncovered is my light is 36 inches which leaves no place for basking light. My basking temps are 80-82 now with no additional light. I could always get a 24 inch light which would leave extra room for a basking lamp. I also plan to add a pothos for additional foliage. Would it appear these temps are to low for a Panther Cham as is?

Thanks. I made a background out of expanding foam many years ago using a similar method, so I may just have a stab at this when I find some suitable magnets.
