No I didnt see mucus. He looked dry by the time the lights went off. Hopefully he will be fine. I dont want anything to build up so I will stop spraying him. It just isnt possible he has an infection from just today.
For the first time I sprayed my 3 inch mt meru jackson chameleon a bit. After a few minutes he opened his mouth and a popping noise went off. I was a told one time that this is a sign of respiratory infection. But this couldnt have happened within minutes. Could it just be a popping noise from...
Ive seen him poop once, the day I got him. And the white part was orange. He is probably under hydrated. All I can do is spray the terrarium twice a day for a minute. And have the mister mist for 2 mins 5 times a day (it mist a portion of the terrarium, towards the bottom). Should I mist the...
I have a 3 inch mt meru jackson chameleon. He has some shed on 1 of his eye balls that he seems to be having trouble getting off. Should I spray him down a little to help this? I read that you shouldnt spray baby chameleons directly because they could drown.
I have a 3 inch Mt Meru Jackson chameleon. I have him in a 18x18x18 screen terrarium. There is one ficus tree that covers the entire area of the cage. I also have other branches for him to climb on. Will he be able to find his food source? I am feeding him fruit flys, I figure just put a lot in...
I have 1 exo terra uvb100 bulb for a 18x18x24 terrarium. Is this enough? Or should I add 1 more to increase the area? Will he know its UVB and go underneath it when he wants that type of light?
Its hard to provide a night time drop in my house, because I keep it at 75 F at night. I could use a humidifier at night time to try to drop the temperature, would that work? Also, what percentage do I need to keep the humidity at night? Wont he get some sort of infection or stress him out if he...
Ok so I cant use a uvb for basking, I understand that now. But does 1 exo terra uvb100 bulb cover a 18x18x24 size tank? Or should I get a tube style uvb bulb to enlarge the uvb area?
Someone at LLL Reptile recommend me having the basking spot for a Mt Meru at 90 F degrees as long as I have a misting system going off most of the day and or a dripper. Is this correct?
Ok, I jut lowered the wattage of the basking bulb to 15 watt. Now the perch I said was 4 inches away from the bulb, is now at a constant 86.7 F degrees. This should be just fine as long as I keep the chameleon properly hydrated correct? Its a 2 month old Mt Meru Jackson, its a baby so they burn...
I have a 25 watt exo terra daytime heat bulb. I have a perch that is 4 inches away from the bulb, and many other perches at other levels in the terrarium so he can escape from that 4 inch perch. This is for a Mt Meru Jackson chameleon. Will it get to hot for him? Does he know to escape from the...
Is this handling with the more hardy chameleons? Because I'd like to handle my mt meru jackson, but I'm afraid of stressing him out. And should I handle him everyday for short periods for him to get use to me? Or does this all matter on his temperament which I should be watching for?
The entire cage is around 71 degrees and gets to 75. But the uvb bulb used for the "basking spot" gets its area (branch below it) to 83.5 degrees. Isnt this actual heat the chameleon can use to properly digest? Or does a basking bulb create different heat than a uvb?
