I thought he was going to about a week ago, he was keeping to himself, was moodier than normal and laying low. His grey areas went really dark and his blue really had a green tinge to his colouring.
I am keeping up the mistings but no shed as yet. His last shed was about a month ago so i am...
Sorry if this has been asked before...
My 8 month old Panther seems to have slowed down his appetite and is off his food. For the first 6 weeks he was eating 6-10 crickets a day (sometimes more) and then in the afternoon having silkworms or the occassional wax worm as a treat.
I free feed...
I saw George drink for the first time today..he was on the side of the cage just drinking up the droplets after a good misting. He is normally really shy about drinking around me...that made me happy.
I know it may sound strange but I feel that is a huge step for him feeling comfortable...
Don't worry.....I have had George for 6 weeks. He is an 8 month old Panther and was a late Christmas gift and he hated me at first, so much it used to keep me awake at night....now I like to think he tolerates me.
He would hiss, puff up and lunge at me and really had my bluff, I wouldn't...
xoiceox what part of Australia are you going to.....I was born and bred there and have been in the States for 2 years.
Let me know and I will point u towards some good stuff to see and do :D
Hi!
A quick question on gutloading crix. If George is fed in the am should I gut load earlier in the morning or the night before?
At the moment the crix are kept in a large crix holder and have a supply of water and a commercial gutload grain mixture.
I am then putting his daily...
Thanks!
Gutloaded crix are the staple but I couldn't find any silkworms on line, they all seem to be sold out this week at a few of the places I buy them so I was looking at an alternative :D
I just read that you should only give mealworms as treats...which I do but I was wondering about superworms the same and are they good nutritionally for chams? I haven't fed any to my boy yet....they seem a bit big for him still.
That is so true....I wear grey or bland colors around George if I have to clean his cage or anything and he is fine. If I wear red or bright blue then he is the stroppiest, nastiest thing on earth and I have to count my fingers to see if they are still all there :)
That is hilarious! A cham headbutting a hibiscus flower!
I didnt know they could eat them......I am going to find one tomorrow and see how he goes...maybe a yellow or orange one...
Hopefully it will put him in a good mood...hopefully....something has too.....:D
Thanks for the advice! I am glad I found this forum. I wasn't prepared for Geroge as he was a late Christmas present so I am learning as I go....
They really are wonderful characters!
I am going out to get some gloves for any 'just in case' situation and a fiscus for the patio.
It...
I have a quick question on biting.
I have had George for a month now, he is getting used to us & his new surroundings but after my little scare with him and thinking he may be ill I realize that sometime in the future I may have to pick him up to handle him (feeding meds etc).
He is around...
Thanks for everyones concern and advice.
He seems to be back to his normal self now although he is not eating very much so I am misting him and his cage frequently with warm water and offering him a variety of crickets and worms.
I posted some photos of him and his cage in the members...

Hello,
I am new to this forum as I have just been given a young male Panther Chameleon, I have had him for a month and he was purchased through a reputable breeder and I haven't had any problems with him.
He eats a variety of food (crickets, silk worms, wax worms, phoenix worms etc) and is...
