This seems to be the best chameleons ever, is there a catch? such as they only eat diamond crusted earrings or they must be kept at 339.2 degrees exactly 24/7:rolleyes:
They are beautiful I would LOVE one of those but it has to wait few years...are they the biggest kind of cham? certainly looks that way. There are probably none of them in SA though
Wow that is awsome I am going to go see what it looks like just to be on the same page, I've read that Veiled chams only live about 6-8years if their lucky...is that true? And also, are the parsonii bigger than veilled's and do they grow slower or faster, sorry to bomb you with the q's its...
Does that type of cham (parsonii) grow to be older than a veiled? If I'm correct a veiled can be mated at 4 months but shouldn't be mated so early of course, but why then does the parsonii have to be so old?
I have not done much reading on any other chameleons than my own
Hey thanks for the welcome guys... This approach of mine is getting me into trouble, lol, I might really have to soften up a bit some people get easily offended and then I cant help myself to torment them a little and sit and laugh in my seat.(BTW not in this tread, I KNOW RIGHT??? I'm new how...
You must be very proud! I would be, going to get my wife a female later on maybe I could also then experience that feeling. Haha, what am I talking about my son is going to be born in august I'm sure thats gonna be much more awesome!
Males are larger and most of the time they look better, like in the case of a veiled chameleon. And they also live longer because they don't have the strain of laying eggs.
Ace, I've been reading other treads on the forum and that inspired me to add that last bit that is so offensive to you... MANY times there are people who know NOTHING (and are probably bored) that just give a random opinion that isn't worth a read and just wastes everyones time, I avoided that...
:DDon't worry I'm not sensitive I appreciate you guys getting to the point and stressing the importance, I am certainly not too nice when giving my opinion...actually feel bad...ok i'm over it:cool:
Ok then, i get how important it is, the wood is sealed but still i'm going to have an aluminium one built. 2m(w)X2m(h)X1m(d) will do. Wanted one anyway, gonna mis the fountain though, haha
Thanx for the strict yet straight forward advice
I get what you are saying, I really like the fountain though, and I did take his droppings into account and stationed it so that he can do no climbing above it, only way he can leave droppings in it would be for him to do it while drinking and that has never happened.
I've never seen him...
Wow:eek: thats insane! I've searched no actually scoured the web searching for Chams in sa and was only able to find a very limited range of info and one supplier of reptile accessories... here you are... a breeder, haha
Thanks for the response I'm new to the forum and I am going to try and...
I have an almost 4 month old Veiled called "Smarti" and I am well informed and its not my first, still i wonder about misting... Does anyone know if it serves any other goal than triggering the drinking response?
I have a Rock fountain in the cage and Smartie has no prob drinking from that...
Nice, wish there was such a thing in South Africa as a reptile expo, I would be lucky to find someone at the local pet store who knows what a chameleon eats... I teach them, haha
Sounds to me like you love the idea of a chameleon, you don't stress too much when it seems to be sick and you have none of the right equipment to keep a cham or the slightest bit of knowledge how to, you just casually mentioning the symptom it is showing isn't helping your case. AT LEAST you...
