Congrats on the new cham. I would say to leave him for a few days to get adjusted to his new enviroment, and then start getting him used to you by offering him handfeeding. Im sure with some patience and some yummy treats from you he will be too happy to crawl back up your hand and arm
It is a very sad time for me and mr Jingles. I bought Mr J from a guy that did not tell me that it is illegal for me to keep him in SA. And me not knowing anything did not know what species he was.I only found out that I am not allowed to keep him from other SA members on this forum and that...
I bought more cham friendly plants and trees for my flat so the babies can get use to being out their cages. Mr Jingles are feeling slighly overwhelmed, all I see of him is one eye watching my every move. Sky however is exploring every single branch and leave to see where it's going. Gotta love...
Both my chams don't mind the hamster, they do get a bit stressed when the snake comes out to play, so I make sure that their cages are closed up and they don't glimpse the snake when we take him out
So I have Sky now for 3 days. I know the set up is good, I see him eat between 10 and 20 pinheads a day, he drinks so cutely from the leaves. Yet, he's so so small and I second guess everything. I really did not think I will stress and worry so much about him. Mr Jingles is doing so well, I...
He looked so cute this morning after the lights came on. Seems like he is praying for me to please hurry up with the cricket bowl. He came down so fast when that bowl came in
and here he is
He's home, enclosure set up. Ì still want to add a hbiscus plant and some vertical vines. That I will do over the weekend.
I also bought my daughter a baby bearded dragon and my son a kenyan sand boa. All still babies. Now I have a house full of baby reptiles to raise.
We have...
At long last I managed to track down a breeder in South Africa. I'm on my way to go get my baby boy from him. I'm super excited, he is supplying me with everything, the enclosure, lights, décor inside the whole set up. Now I must just think of a nice name for him. Will post pics tonight to...
Thats so interesting, I could see from his attitude that the snake is something he don't wish to encounter again. Luckily their enclosures are on opposite sides of my lounge. And I threatened my son with punishment if he ever plays with the snake near Mr J again.
Do you think cb chams recognise snakes as their enemies? Has such a giggle at Mr Jingles yesterday. When I'm home we open his cage and he can roam a little around his enclosure. My 6 year old son has bought himself a juvenile Kenyan Sand boa on sunday and are carrying this snake all over. Poor...
So we had the reptile exco close to us this weekend, and although I didn't get another cham, I got such a nice enclosure for Mr Jingles. I'm so impressed with it, we can easily semi free range and have the enclosure for when I'm at work.
What dobyou think?
