That was honestly what I was thinking. They literally rested their heads on my arm and were out within 10-20 seconds of rubbing the casque!

I actually, did the same thing this morning with different results... Thought I was on to something! But, my 2 males are normally calm and didn't mind me rubbing the casque my little stub tail guy was a little weirded out, but he was tolerate of it.

Yeah, it is kind of crazy. The one with the stub tail is the skittish one and I rarely mess with him cause he is so skittish and after rubbing his casque he was literally calm and ok with me touching him. I would say it was like the type of stimuli a cat/dog gets when you rub their belly...

Yes, have to agree with Oustalet male. I have three oustalet males and he looks similar. The female oustalet's are very green, like a veiled green. Here are some of my males pics from a little while back...

Very cool, I have something very similar for my oustalet's. I build a little perch with a base that I take in and out of the cage for cleaning and the only thing I have attached to the sides of the cage are some fake foliage. So no stress on the mesh, easy to clean, and very sturdy!

I went on Saturday and picked up some supplies! Great show

I make a bird perch type base and have all of the branches attached to the base and each other. For the mesh sides, I attach some fake foliage with clear fishing line. That way I can remove the "perch" and clean everything really easy.

The show is on the 19th and 20th.

I hear you on that Erik! I remember 2 years ago... I was hard pressed to find a single Oustalet and now... Since they have been discovered in Florida... They are like pennies on the dollar. It is sad, but I still think they are awesome. Maybe I'll give breeding a shot in a year or two...
