I would say that makes sense, but my 2 guys are the calmest chams! They are super easy going and don't scare, they literally just chill all day long. Even when I take them out of their cage, they are just very easy going... My 2 males have never hissed, gapped, or anything ever! My other male is...
I actually, did the same thing this morning with different results... Thought I was on to something! But, my 2 males are normally calm and didn't mind me rubbing the casque my little stub tail guy was a little weirded out, but he was tolerate of it.
Yeah, it is kind of crazy. The one with the stub tail is the skittish one and I rarely mess with him cause he is so skittish and after rubbing his casque he was literally calm and ok with me touching him. I would say it was like the type of stimuli a cat/dog gets when you rub their belly...
So, I have 3 oustalet boys and two of them are very easy going and never gap, hiss, etc and my other one is just skittish and if I go near him he will actively move away quickly from my hand, no big deal...
Today, I was taking them out and cleaning up their cages and with my biggest guy, he was...
Does anyone know any good (cheap) cricket suppliers in Phoenix? I have ran into several issues with getting them shipped to me and I don't want to pay the ridiculous prices at petsmart and petco. Any one in Phoenix know where I can get a good deal? Just curious... Worse case, I can continue to...
Very nice!! I don't want to rob this thread, but once I finish school, I'm going to give breeding a shot as soon as I can find a good quality CB female Oustalet. But I checked out his other thread and I'm definitely on board with the female Oustalet! The other pics are very clear with the...
Yes, that is very true! I have seen some of those colorations on the females as well. It is hard to tell from the pic, but his does look similar to my males. But, the bars are a little different then my guys and the pic you posted more closely resembles the pic in this thread.
Kudos, Chris -...
Yes, have to agree with Oustalet male. I have three oustalet males and he looks similar. The female oustalet's are very green, like a veiled green.
Here are some of my males pics from a little while back...
Very cool, I have something very similar for my oustalet's. I build a little perch with a base that I take in and out of the cage for cleaning and the only thing I have attached to the sides of the cage are some fake foliage. So no stress on the mesh, easy to clean, and very sturdy!
I make a bird perch type base and have all of the branches attached to the base and each other. For the mesh sides, I attach some fake foliage with clear fishing line. That way I can remove the "perch" and clean everything really easy.
Very nice, I have never been to the Phoenix show, but I have been to the Tucson one a few times. I'm hoping there will be some good deals, I was looking to stock up on some supplies.
I didn't see any recent posts for the upcoming Phoenix Reptile Show, I'm hoping to pick up some uvb's and an extra cage... Are there gonna be any good deals???? hint, hint - Site Sponsors ;)
I have 3 males that are just about 1 year old. Erik Sorg was who I got mine from. they were cbb 2nd generations. We need more oustaleti's out there!! I thought about giving breeding a shot if I can find a good captive female in a year or so. Good luck with your project!
I hear you on that Erik! I remember 2 years ago... I was hard pressed to find a single Oustalet and now... Since they have been discovered in Florida... They are like pennies on the dollar. It is sad, but I still think they are awesome. Maybe I'll give breeding a shot in a year or two...
Oh man.... That really sux Erik!! Are you thinking about getting another one? I was thinking about giving breeding a shot maybe in a year or so... I would need to find a prime C.B. Female for one of my guys. One of my guys has some really interesting green/turquoise to him around his face and...
