A friend called me today to say she recently bought a baby herman's tortoise and now decided she no longer wants it and asked if I would take it instead and adopt it from her.
I do have a vivarium that's empty that is big enough for a full grown herman, so don't need to get a additional set...
They'll understand one day if they own a pet, look after it and love it and then they'll know loosing them is just as painful as loosing a human family member.
Mine currently won't take fruit. The store I got him from was giving him a rubbish diet, all he was giving him was cabbage and broccoli, he's healthy regardless, he just wasn't getting variety so its getting him used to more things now like collard greens etc to get more variety and nutrients...
After loosing my beloved 6 and a half Panther Chameleon yesterday from old age, I've had the most ignorant and insensitive comments from some of my own family members :(
My grandmother has never liked reptiles and thinks I'm weird for liking them (I don't care btw lol) and told her today over...
Just a update and a sad one :'(
I managed to get some silkworms as well as a little water into him but tonight he took a turn for the worst, came in to find him laid on the cage floor barely breathing, I'm still cradling him as I type this as I doubt he'll make it to tomorrow morning :'(
Got a new baby last week, a red iguana, he's only a baby right now and know he's still in the settling in stage and iguana's can take up to two weeks to eat properly but do iguana's eat at night rather than day light hours.
Currently he's getting spring greens (AKA collard greens) water...
Maybe he just doesn't like them much :) if I try a feeder and my cham won't eat it no matter what, I don't worry about it, I just don't buy them anymore. Like us eating foods we hate.
Feel so sad and worried at the same time.
My Panther Chameleon, Sebastian turned 6 years old this June, so he's about 6 and a half right now and due to old age, he's going down hill :( and he hasn't had ANY health issues since the day I got him until now, so he's done well health wise...
Yes the Repashy all in one contains vitamin A. Also others members have mentioned leaving lights on a little later doesn't hurt, he's still getting his required amount of time for his UVB and heat.
Any cham can be laid back if you hit the jackpot :) my veiled is just evil, can't get his food cup out without being attacked but my panther is such a sweetheart, loves to crawl down to be picked up.

My panther did this with a silk worm when I was watching. He took it at first, chewed it and dropped it and looked at me like "what the hell was that" LOL
Feeding my panther chameleon with a adult locust this morning and my Jack Russell puppy ran into me by accident while he was playing which made me drop it and since then I can't catch the little bugger :p
Is there any methods or traps that can catch locusts. Only can find cricket traps, would...
