Thanks Jann and Michelle for the nice comments about my Diva! :) Diva has really been a good eater lately.
I was lucky enough to find a closeout of bird ladders at a pet store last summer and I have them everywhere! They're great to wrap vines on or just use a zip tie whenever needed.
I just put the ladder on tonight, actually. She used it to get to her feeder from the main part of her free range. She seemed to like it. I loved the view of her when I entered the room!
She's very cute!! Have you tried making a bug feeder out of a plastic jug instead of using a cup? My little Melleri won't cup feed either - but she will eat crickets from the jug feeder I made (pretty unprofessional job but it works!). She prefers shooting at sides of jug I guess to inside the...
All good suggestions here. My female veiled had this personality change and I never did get her sweet self back. I don't know if it's been suggested yet - but one thing that works with my Melleri is to avoid direct eye contact & blink alot when you do need to make eye contact with them. Sounds...
Glad to know my Cham isn't the only lizard getting this treatment. My friends give me grief over my "Friday night" spray sessions with Kirby!! I think Kirby may like them a little too much! Lol
I'm so sorry Laurie!! It's so tough with these Melleri - just when I think things are great something usually surprises me with mine. You gave Rah a good life. I'm sorry for your loss.
Not long - male panthers are very territorial and will fight any Cham in their space. Mine will go after my Meller's and he's easily 3 times his size. You may want to come up with some sort of enclosure until you sell one - I've had lots of luck at thrift stores getting temporary cages for...
Best wishes for Hershel. I would use caution with the meds - I have had both good and bad experiences using antibiotics with chams. Trust your gut if you feel it's time to stop. (Wish I had)
My chams started going to bed earlier with the change of seasons & before I made any move to turn lights off sooner. I guess they are one step ahead of me.
Love this pose!! My male Ambilobe does the same thing when he gets crusty sperm plugs & wants me to spray his vent with warm water. It helps him "rub them out." (Sorry... I don't get out much!)
