sounds like she just needs some fortaz, my velied had similar symptoms and i got him to the vet and he put him on fortaz and i have 2 shots left and he's not wheezing anymore and is much more active. he stopped wheezing around the 4th or 5th shot out of 9 total
i had a chameleon with the exact same problem! it sounds like a sinus abscess, take him to a good reptile vet ASAP! i didn't do it as soon as i noticed it and the problems that spawned out of that thing eventually killed him :(
I just got a hibiscus to add to my veiled's cage. Since my cage isn't in direct sunlight, would i need to get a plant growing bulb to add to my cage's lights? Would a plant bulb have any adverse effects on my chameleon?
I have a solid 6 inch piece of plastic on the sides of the cage that was to prevent my first mister from spraying outside the cage. There are vined running just below the plastic and i will walk into the room with my cage in it and i will see my chameleons feet on the branch and then i will see...
good old fashioned soap and water should do the trick. you might also want to disinfect it with a dilute bleach solution, or if you can get ahold of it, chlorohexidine, aka nolvasan.
my veiled is a pistol. he doesnt run from me when i have to reach in the cage....he stands and fights lol. i have to distract him with my other hand to grab him without getting bit, and after i have him out he still hisses up a storm and tries to bite lol. when i have him out i have to keep him...
I have seen some people on here like to use halogen lights for basking. Right now i have a brooder lamp i picked up from home depot and it keeps my little veiled at a comfy 80-85 degrees in his basking spot. (he is about 6-7 months old now). What wattage and how far away from the basking spot...
Is it safe to fertilize plants in my chameleon enclosure so they can grow and be more plentiful in size? I have the soil covered with rocks and there will be no way my chameleon could come in contact with the fertilizer itself. What fertilizer would you all recommend that the plant would not...
did it start appearing after his falls? if it did i personally would be running to my vet asking for x-rays and what impact that bump could have on him as he gets bigger
if it only shows up when he moved certain ways, it may be a shoulder blade deformity that he was born with? does it seem to be painful to him or hinder his movement with that arm? either way he probably could use a vet visit..
do they say they do not allow reptiles on the contracts or do they just say no pets allowed? i have lived in a few apartments where it just said no pets allowed but i talked to them about my snakes and chameleon and they said they were fine as long as i had locking cages. The no pets thing...
i actually just bought one for my lil guy. so far i love it!! and from reading about it the $99 starter kit says it can support up to 10 nozzles. I just have a single nozzle and im thinking of getting another nozzle to better cover my huge cage lol. When i bought it i just got the kit and added...
The baytril is there probably to prevent any further infections because her immune system is already taxed pretty hard. It does seem like a lot of medication but a standard reptile deworming is a mix of metronidazole and panacur. with its intestines already feeling ropey because they are full of...
with the kale, would all the oxalates in it get bound up by the feeders or would it not really matter since he will be getting calcium with every meal?
