Crisis averted
after searching for a few hours in my backyard I got all pissed off and went inside for a break.
Thats all she needed to come out of hiding.
About 20 minutes later I went to keep looking and we caught her running to hide under the fence.
Thanks for your quick replies!
I took my veiled Gertrude outside today in a large umbrella tree in my backyard and I turned my back for ten minutes and she disappeared.
Here are some photos of my backyard. The two spruce trees are between 30-50 feet tall and I also have a large raspberry bush

I think its because the clinic I got her from don't normally deal with reptiles, hence my checkup at my regular vet when I get a fresh poopie. I will probably end up treating her then, but in the meantime she is super, and eating like a pig :-D
I couldn't tell you if this is a normal dose...
slighly off topic as well, but how much is a "normal" amount of coccidia or pinworms?
I just adopted a female veiled and tech at the clinic I adopted her from said she had a "normal" amount of pinworms, but they gave her one treatment of medication to make sure it stayed normal... or...
I have only heard about dangers using compact fluorescent bulbs.

I bumped into this site like maybe 3 years ago, so I am not sure how up-to-date it is. Companies may have changed their compact bulbs by now.
On another note, what if...
what is the plant in the bottom left-hand corner? The red/yellow/green-leaved one?
I think my mom has one of those that I may just have to steal from her now, they are pretty!
lisagr07,
they are swell little outdoor cages. I would usually set mine up hanging near the sprinkler, then I get a watered lawn and a happy chameleon all at once!

I think wooden vivs have more of an aesthetic appeal to them, so if you could find one with appropriate ventilation I would go for that.
I have never built an enclosure from scratch myself, so I'm not too much help there, but if you use the search feature there are tons of examples of...
If you are worried, you can use one if these. Stick a hanging plant in there and your good to go. http://www.exo-terra.com/en/products/explorarium.php
I always used one for archie because there are alot of cats in my neighbourhood and I was worried one would jump on him before I had a...
This morning after her morning mist she went crazy drinking, so I refilled her drip cup and she sat under there for a good 10 minutes or so before I realized I should take advantage of this situation.
I was able to trick her into drinking out of a dripping syringe by dripping it onto the leaf...
Thanks for the kind words everyone!
She is settling in very well. I have already seen her drinking and she ate a few worms and crickets, though not in front of me (she's a little shy about eating in front of me yet).
I'll be sure to update with pics as she gets older
Today I adopted 1-year-old female veiled Gertrude from a vet clinic a friend works at!
She is super friendly, and chubby, and is healing well from her spay, but is a little dehydrated.
About a month ago someone brought her into my friends clinic with a prolapse. Apparantly her previous...
lol, this happened to me before too. My cham was just chillin on my shoulder then out of nowhere his tongue was in my eye. I think he liked my eyelashes... they must have looked yummy.
Mr Wilson, very sorry to hear about Rosie
Its always sad to lose a pet, no matter how long you have had them.
I agree. I used to work in a pet store, and it did have inspections every 3-6 months by the humane society (or SPCA or something) and they were pretty strict on all animal housing...
