How old is your veiled? I have one that is about 6 months old and is about that same size. He is HUGE AND MEAN!! You're lucky you can hold yours for pictures! Beautiful cham!!
A lot of worms are higher in fat and can cause obesity if fed too much. I have always used gut loaded crickets as a staple in my chameleons' diet. I supplement with worms every couple of feedings. As far as the worms eating their way out...not likely. I have always heard it was a myth. The myth...
I have two veileds. A male and a female. My female curls up and turns bright green and she doesn't wake up until she's ready. A bomb could go off. Cute picture!
You should really handle a veiled chameleon as little as possible due to stress issues. I fed mine about 15 small to medium dusted crickets a day when they were about that age. They grew like weeds. My male was HUGE at 5-6 months.
I have a breeding pair of veileds that I purchased from FLCHAMS when they were just babies. If you got yours:) from FLCHAMS as well then I'm sure you have a wonderful chameleon. Your chameleon definately needs a basking light that stimulates natural sun though.
I have owned chams off and on since I was 15 and I currently have a breeding pair of veileds. Nice to see there is a forum dedicated to all of these wonderful creatures!:)
