I have had some issues keeping some of the plants alive in my enclosures. I think the issue is a lack of proper soil hydration. I have been replacing pothos and spider plants mostly, every few months. I just replaced 4 plants today and am working on a plan to reduce the need for replacements.

Sorry for the long absence. Bruce is doing well, growing, and being a TOTAL jerk. haha
He is the complete opposite as Chuck where personality is concerned. Chuck is totally laid back, loves interacting with me, and NEVER fires up or shows aggression. Bruce on the other hand, HATES (fears) me...
Wow, time really flies!! I can't believe it has been 4 months since my last update. I suppose that is due in part to there being nothing significant to report. Chuck is doing GREAT!!. He is a pig and eats everything within minutes of adding it to the feeder run. He is by FAR the friendliest cham...
I don't handle my boys very often, but I like to give them the option. I have had Chuck Norris for about a year and he is to the point that he will usually climb onto my hand if I hold it near him. It has only been like this for the last couple months though. Don't expect quick results. My guy...
IME, this is pretty common as they start to mature, they start to really explore their territory regularly. My guy is about 16 months and patrols the entire cage several times a day. He just sits and basks for a while, then he climbs all over his cage from top to bottom, front to back. The he...
Wherever your cham is most likely to see the bugs inside. I have one mounted almost all the way at the top for one of my boys. The other is about halfway down the cage for my younger guy. Let your cham determine where is best to place it.
This is what I ordered for my newest Panther. Just be prepared to receive a damaged cage. They did not pack it in anything and the delivery people bent the $#!* out of it. I got a replacement and it was even worse. I am using the replacement as an outdoor enclosure now, so I can put them outside...
My 1 year old panther went through a similar phase where his colors went from bright and vibrant, to completely grey (more drastic than yours). It took a few weeks, but my solution seemed to be lots of natural sunlight and improved gutloading. Once those changes were made, his color came back...
I may be wrong, but it looks like an older Reptibreeze design. I had one like it years ago. They have since done away with that top section and just have a single large door with the bottom opening.
Finally got another decent picture of Bruce tonight. His reds are really starting to shine and I LOVE it!! He is still SUPER saucy and wants nothing to do with me, but we are working on some trust exercises. :)
New pic of chuck. Not much change, just chuggin' along. He seems to really trust me finally.
He actually came out of his cage onto my arm twice this last weekend. I simply placed my hand in his enclosure near him and after a minute or 2 he just stepped right on and went outside sore some good...
There will be the random cricket that jumps out, but most just climb to the top and hang out. Honestly, most don't survive long enough to jump out. Those that do jump out will usually climb on the cage walls and be hunted with vigor. I actually don't mind a few escaping as I feel it adds a...
I have a just over 1 year old Sambava x Ambilobe male and a 4.5 month Ambilobe. I have the mister set to go off for 3 minutes @ 11am, 2pm, and 6 pm. My boys both drink well and are well hydrated, so it seems to do the job. It is warm and dry enough here right now that this seems to allow the...
It took me years, and I generally try not to. There is no one home during the day, so the temps are allowed to be a bit higher than when I am there. Unfortunately, summer cooling costs dictate how much I am willing to suffer. If I kept the house @ 75* or lower through the summer, I would pay...
I use the Full Throttle Feeders in both of my enclosures. They are basically a permanent fixture in the enclosure. I only remove them to clean them. By leaving them in the enclosure, they become a part of the chams territory and they are no longer afraid of that strange new thing in their home...
I have very much the same issue. I live in Phoenix and we had 145 days of 100+ degree weather last year. Today we are looking at 107. So far my boys are doing well. My night time temps only get down to ~78 at night and the room is 80 during the day (my electric bill is already getting...
