I wouldn’t be worried about it, my little guy is 100% healthy but sheds irregularly, as long as there are no other signs of any health issue, I’d say your cham is just growing
I believe strawberries are fine for gutloading your crickets, but you should also use something like dandelion greens so there is a variety in the nutrients
How soon are you getting the larger cage? When you get it make sure you get a wire mesh cage that's taller than it is wide because chameleons have very sensitive respiratory systems and having them in a glass cage can lead to infections, and chameleons need verticle space since they are used to...
After a little more research Flchams has a list that says any Dracaena species should be all right, but I can't find any information about the other to plants.
Oh, I don't know how I completely missed that. Anyway, the first on, the Croton, should be alright, however, I have not seen the other three in anyone's husbandry before, and they may be toxic, I will do some further research and tell you what I find. The best bet for right now is to keep the...
The only plants that I know are for sure safe for veiled are hibiscus, ficus, Hawaiian umbrella, golden pothos, and croton. It's a little hard to tell what all the plants are in your pictures, and I am not a botanist so I can't identify them, but I'm not certain they would be best for your...
Thank you, I hadn’t even thought of a divider, that would help save a lay of space, I could probably put them on the same misting system that way as well!
Hey guys,
I’ve had my veiled for almost a year now and I’ve gained a lot of experience caring for the different problems that arise, in happy to say that there have been no health problems, but now that I’ve got some experience I was looking into getting a panther. I know they’re a little...
I don’t think I’d be able to find much time to build one, with work and school I barley have time as it is. He’s in a screen cage right now, I know that they’re prone to lung infections and what not, so they need to have airflow. I’ve heard of Dragon Strand but I had no idea they have a built in...
So I feel like it’s about time to upgrade my chameleon cage, since this one seems a little too small for my guy now. He’s a veiled, about 6-7 months old, and his cage is just under three feet tall, so I was wondering where I should buy my new cage from, how big it should be, and finally getting...
Hi all,
So I woke up this morning and char was beginning to shed. It was quite supprising since he hadn’t showed any signs of shedding and now half of his skin is off. I was just wondering if there is anything special I need to do to make sure the shed goes well. I already know to most him a...
Hi all,
This is just a post I thought a few of you would find interesting and funny. A few days ago I noticed char would have his stress colors on when I walked into the room, at first I thought it was me, but when I put my hand in the cage it would actually calm him down. So the hunt began for...
I’m no expert, so take my advice with a grain of salt but I believe as long as there’s a temperature gradient in the cage And the ambient temperature is 72-80 I think that should be fine
yeah, I know how you feel since charmeleon used to be the exact same way. I found that giving him a treat like a super worm once a week actually makes him like me a lot more, or I guess tolerate me. Really patience is key, it took three weeks for me to get this far, you just gotta keep trying!
