Thanx for the info and offer pssh. Unfortunately im pretty far away, and its quite cold in Ontario this week so shipping plants would be more hassle than its worth.
I will try a couple of different places locally and hopefully come up with something.
Thanx for the info lisa. I checked the safe plants list and the ivy seem to be unsafe. I will return it tomorrow and grab a couple of ferns, noticed the store had some available.
The selection this time of year for tropical plants isnt too good, hopefully I can find a pothos in the spring.
Wondering if it is safe to use ivy in a pygmy enclosure as it would provide alot of cover and vines? I cant find any pothos or I would use those instead.
I have a layer of hydro balls and a layer of charcoal all divided by mesh. The original plan was to use coco fibre with some play sand mixed in.
Will this setup be suitable for egg laying females, also how deep will the top layer of substrate need to be? R. brevs (bearded pygmys) will be the...
My eggs have been incubating for almost 6 months now and we have started to experience some colder weather. Will 68 degrees farenheit for a couple of nights be too cold? The daytime temperatures will creep back up over 70.
They are in tupperware containers in the closet of my reptile room...

I use the silk plants from the hobby type stores in alot of my reptiles tanks. They receive a good wash before I put them into the cages and I havent had any problems yet. I currently use them in my chameleon and crested gecko tanks.
To me they are appealing since they are cheaper and provide...
I would also recommend you fill out the how to ask for question form as posted above.
To start though pick up a digital thermometer they are much more accurate. Also remove the waterfall and start to mist the enclosure at least twice daily. The live plant helps hold the moisture in the...

I will be there Saturday. Likely just getting some feeders and take a look around.
If I can find a breeding age/size ambilobe female I will pick her up. Really would like to pick up a few carpet chameleons but I dont think there will be any at this show.
I am not sure anyone can answer that question. It really depends on your setup. You are in the range with the 40-60w bulb, but it really depends.
Diferent fixtures sometimes produce different baskings temps, how close the light is to the basking spot also changes the temp.
Get yourself a...
I use the schefflera abricola in all of my chameleon tanks. I have had great luck with them. They are very hearty, the only one I had a problem with was in a solid pot and was unable to drain. I am now using proper pots with some drainage and they grow great no problems. The leaves are big and...
