Thanks I will look for a Pothos since my plants are having a hard time right now and the babies should be comming in about two months so I want to have plenty of plants growing for two pygmy homes!
THANKS!!! Are Pathos pretty hardy? I am terrible with plants they end up dying on me after a few months! I should go knock on some wood though since I have had three ficuses for about 1/2 a year now with no problems!!:)
I thought Ivy was fine..... I am going to take it out and put something else in there. I know that they won't eat it but just in case a loose cricket does! What other plants would you suggest?
I know that these plants are toxic for Melleri but what about pygmy? I have some and the ivy I have in their set up is dying...so I wanted to know if Philodendron is toxic for pygmies also. I just wasn't sure since they don't eat leaves like Melleri:) Thanks for any info!
I have only seen Ichi (my Melleri) fall once and I have almost had him a year now....but that doesn't mean he doesn't fall when I'm not around:D. He probably does?
Especially now with the internet and great forums like these there is no excuse! When I had my veiled years ago there wasn’t all this great info. And last year when I rescued the Mellers after seeing his living conditions and feeling really bad for him I did research and I found this forum! :)
I agree with you...I am a teacher and yes there are kids who make BAD choices don't get me wrong but don't put all kids down(you can’t blame the whole group for a few individuals actions)! This group of kids just wasn’t taught to respect other people property and belongs as well as living...
Well I took Ichi to get another shot yesterday and the vet had the results from the tests/cultures she took. I would have never guessed this but he has a staff infection! He is getting better though...she says the infection is healing nicely and his lobe might be saved. She cleaned of the area...
Thanks for all the kind words from everybody.....I got home from work today and one of my Madagascar hissing roaches died:(. I guess all around it was a bad day at my house! I am just gald I don't have that same connection with the roach that I had with Lizzy!
Well I got up this morning and like I do everyday I go and check on my chams. One of my female pygmies Lizzy always hides under ivy leaves so since I hadn't seen her yet I started to look over near the ivy and I found her dead...:( I got her back in Jan. at the reptile expo and she is the cham...
I am so sorry to hear that.....I have had a group of crows try to attack my toy Chihuahua it was the scariest thing ever. I know how you feel being so attached to your cham....the thought of losing my Meller when I recently took him to the vet brought me to tears...my thoughts are with you.
My Meller does the same thing he starts to go to bed about anywhere from one hour to two hours before lights out.....and I asked this same question a while back and the thoughts were its fine as long as everything else is normal.
I don't have any current photos of him next to something for a size comparison but here he is weighing 384 grams....
big boy! (notice the bamboo in the back is boughed!)
