I'd like to see some Melleri photos :)

I wish i knew the guy that had em at auction, but i was a greenhorn and never been to this type of auction, in july i will find out who sells em and where they are from

Yeah that would be awesome! Maybe I can get something from them!? I've been looking for a Male Meller for my Female..It's a bit of a task..since it's hard to sex them! Ahh! But I'm still looking around, But I cant get another untill I can move! :(

Here are my 11 month captive hatched Mellers. You can get a general idea as to what size they are.

See Ya,

Todd

I really want to see some Melleri photo's of a full grown with something to compare it's size to, pop can or whatever, I'm really looking forward to seeing what mine will be like in a few years. I think i've seen almost all the photos on the whole internet lol, but i still haven't grasped the true size of a full grown Melleri. And i'm not obsessed with his size at all, i'm feeding him decently, not power feeding him as i understand they grow for years and theres no sense in trying to do that, i just want him to be happy and healthy, and live a full long life. He has adapted very well, and is doing great. My girlfreind and I are just curious as to what he'll bloom into as an adult.

I don't have any current photos of him next to something for a size comparison but here he is weighing 384 grams....
big boy! (notice the bamboo in the back is boughed!)

Melleri rock!

Good idea for a thread. Its cool to see the melleri of the forum! Looking good Todd! haha They are still getting along alright?

Here are my four Melleri. They are pictured in the order I aquired them.

Melleri #1: Lenny talking with food in her mouth. Actually the HW has a good grip on her lip and she is attempting to get it down the hatch..... she was in a little bit of panic. The next time it happened to her I foolishly tried to help.... as soon as she felt my finger she bit down thinking it was the worm ...... she is strong

Here she is again sunning.... hanging her belly down. I didn't know at the time she had eggs..... but she was prolly warming them.

Melleri #2: Pat at about 5 weeks old.

Here is Pat just a couple of weeks ago... weighing in at about 145g at the time. today he was 159g

Melleri #3: Henry, first day home. he is 22" total length

IMG_8342.jpg

When we moved he liked to wander off and inspect the rooms..... finding places he might like to roost....

His rear left foot....

Henry and Lenny. this is Lenny's tree. I am trying to get them used to eachother... so I bring him into her tree every now and then and let them 'talk' ;)

Melleri #4: This is little Chris. He is a clutch mate of Pat.... but not quite the same size... here he is next to Henry... before Henry flipped out...

IMG_9440.jpg

Henry not so happy with Chris. in this picture you can see the damage he got from crickets biting his tail.

IMG_9445.jpg

Chris had to have 1.5-2" of his tail removed because crickets were picking on him....

Since he had the bit of tail removed he has been growing pretty well. This is him this morning on the scale.

ok sorry for the delay , he weighs 87.88 grams, so i am trying to age him by his weight atm

That isn't a good plan....

Look at my two, Pat is 159g and hatched with Chris who is 45g. Same age.... some go through spirts, some have hold backs that stunt growth. They all grow at different a different pace.

Where did you get your Melleri? Is he WC or CH?

I would say almost all the young melleri you see on this forum that are CH are from Mike Monge at FLChams. He had three or four clutches last year. As far as I know there weren't any other people selling CH melleri last year that weren't from him.

Post up some pics of your Melleri.

Thanks, and yes they are getting along just fine... They are really funny to watch when they are feeding. The other day Terrence snagged a cricket and Philip shot and stole it right out of his mouth. It was pretty funny....

Your Mellers look good too BTW. Pat is getting big!

See Ya,

Todd

haha that is funny.

Pat is a monster. I have been letting him hang out with Lenny as well. He flips out on her and she is just like 'yeah whatever little guy' and he always ends up backing off, she isn't bothered by him.

I got him from an exotic pet auction that i listed earlier in this thread, and no solid proof about age or where he's from, and bought a camera today so as soon as i read the picture posting threads and take a picture i'll have one posted for you guys

My girlfriend and i are drooling over all the awesome pics you guys posted thanks so much, they are monsters!

I would say he is young-ish-only due to the fact that he is still rather streamlined looking. The older ones tend to start gaining height to their bodies. Can you get some closer pics and some of his head?
