Thanks for the replies. I have not seen him eat since getting him, so will move him to a smaller "critter pen" with some plants for easier access to food. He is a bit bigger than hatchling size and should eat small 1.4" crickets. I will try this. I really think he is too small for the vet to do...
Hi,
Haven't posted in a long time, but needed some help. Just picked up some chams from a friend that owed me some and have a problem with the smallest. It is about 3-4 months ambilobe panther. Its brothers and sisters are 4 x the size. I thought it was just a runt, but when I put it in its...
The highest temp is 75 for the quads. They get stress colors any higher. I have kept deremensis up to 90 (came back from work and that was the room temp) and they were fine, but I was not comfortable so I moved them to a cooler room.
I keep both also, and live in Quebec. I find the deremensis slightly hardier and they can tolerate warmer temps as long as they are well hydrated. My quads have to go in the basement in the summer. I just keep the deremensis in the shade in summer, but inside at night because lots of cats around.
Hi Hoj,
It looks like the sister, female. The small male that died had small horns already and was half the size. The one I have "looks" like it has horns but not developped. The wc female is too roughed up in that area to tell if she has/had that also. The small one also had more sail to the...
Hi,
Haven't posted in a while. I have a pair of Oustalet's together in a large cage. They are getting along well, as I am trying to breed them. Just have to remove female to feed, as she is a piggy!!!
They have been together about 2 months and have seen breeding last week (once) and this...
Well, I got 2 baby quads yesterday about 5 weeks. One for me and one for a friend. I tried to pick a male but it was really difficult.
The temperature was very hot yesterday also.
Started off by bringing my female panther to the vet for an abcess, then went to pick the babies up. Had to cool...
Yes they are quads from a pregnant wild caught female. the same batch that I had, but she took them early and I waited 1 week and it was very warm at the supplier. That is why I lost a pair. I guess eggs taken from a dead female are not very strong. I had brought the mom to the vet for oxytocin...
Well, the little one passed away. It looked good the first day, then had 1 eye closed. I sprayed it gently, it opened the eye but did not look normal (almost as if it was blind in the eye).
Also noticed that the tail end was deformed (thought it was just curled up).
I will not give up though...
That is where I have the adult female, in the bathroom downstairs. It is bright, lots of windows, but very breezy in the summer. The bedroom I had the baby in is too warm right now at 77-78. I put him beside the female, but blocked the view, so they cannot see each other.
I have not had time to...
I removed some eggs from an eggbound female quadricornis that died in the fall. Most of the eggs went bad exept 2, Last week, 1 burst with a live neonate, but surrounded by yolk. It died a day later. Yesterday, I found the last one hatched. I am very happy, just worried that it will stay alive...
The little guy is eating regularly, 8 crickets today (probably the most he's had at one time in his life). He pooped, but some was orange. He does not seem to want water anymore, but it is available. He is now in a 4 ft cage, just need to get him some plants. He only has a little scheffera right...
A guy bought an Ambanja panther last year. He brought it in where I work to sell it because he was moving and did not want to take it with him. Well, I refused to give him anything as it is not sellable (if that is a word).
18 months old, 7 inches total length, backbone and hips showing, no...
I started out with a pair of baby veileds in 1996. They were kept separate in 10 gallon tanks with no UV light, just spot lights. They were dusted with calcium with D3 daily. They both grew well, and as we know the myth now, I bred her at 6 month so she would not be eggbound!
The male died a...
