i had eggs from a similar species, k. boehmei and they had a yellowish tint to the egg before they hatched. i only had 3 of 6 hatch the other 3 went bad within the 6-7 months it took to hatch them.
i heard it takes about 9-10 months for k.tavetana to hatch.
i keep them in a cage for a day and if any die off i throw them all outside just incase they ran into pesticides. no need to clean them i'd just throw them in a cricket container with some greens.
you could catch grass hoppers in fields or adult mantid and stick insect if you can spot them. i feed wc feeders all the time during summer just don't feed of any insect with bright warning colors like yellow and red.
i remember a thread came up about 6 months ago and it said that they are poisonous to chameleons. veileds have been known to eat live plant so it could be a risk but it's up to you.
My house is very dry during winter time. I have a reptifogger that i've been using for the past year so far (never any issues) and a humidifier. There is a rubber ring that the minerals break down after a while so i buy the jugs of water from kroger and use them instead of the tap water.
yes, I believe there is a demand for this species but I don't think there's enough interest to buy all 15 pairs.
if the price is right i'd like a pair, i've been waiting for some to come in.
I order 2500 from my pet shop or reptile show and that usually takes 3 weeks to go threw then I'm back in ordering more. Probably around 3000 a month for me!
