I have a reptarium and because of the dark screen I was wondering if the lights should be placed inside or outside the cage. I know the heat lamp should be out, we don't want any burns, but will the uvb/uva rays penetrate the heavy screen?
Hey I was wondering where you got the info on your chameleon? I also have a flapneck and I am having trouble with him right now. Will you please have a look at my recent post in health section and if you have any info I will greatly apprec.
So...I bought a Flapneck Chameleon at a reptile expo about six weeks ago. He was doing great...eating, drinking, basking, basically acting like a regular chameleon. His bone structure, eyes and color looked good. We had him in a cage that was too small for him so we upgraded to a 125 gallon...
The guy I bought him from said he is mountainous and that the humidity needs to be very high and the temp low. He said the care for them is the opposite of a veiled. He is 2.5 years old. When we are home we spray him from a bottle, but we both work 12 hour shifts half the week and aren't home to...
So I have my Flap Neck Chameleon in a Zoo Med screened enclosure. It is a little too small for him, but next month I plan to start construction on his new very large home. For now though, I am having a very difficult time keeping his humidity up with out completely flooding his home and mine. I...
Hi all,
I just purchased a 2-3 year old male Flapneck Chameleon at a reptile expo today! I am looking for some information about them since I am pretty much only familiar with veileds! I had never even heard of them before but I fell in love with the little guy.
The breeder told me that the...
Zilla makes some great wire mesh cages. Perfect with a door on the front and made from aluminum. Have a pic in my pictures. Works great and no black reptarium blocking you able to see your pet.
Yeah he did try to nip at some fake plants but they are the plastic plants used in aquariums. I would do a necrotopsy but taking to a vet is out of the question right now, with some money probs. We went to a couple reptile stores and they looked at pics and our setup and they had no reason for...
Thanks that helps alot. I want to start again but just want an answer if any. I have lewis in the photo contest when he is praying, check it out he is cute. Thank you for posting.:D
This was taken about a week ago and right after we got him out of the cage, he was a little upset, but I thought it was nice colors. Yes he was a male, he had the spurs on the back feet. I know that females may become egg bound and may die if you don't let them lay. Thanks for asking all...
open air.
It was an open air on all sides. There was no glass in the enclosure. I just don't know why all of a sudden this happened. If he was sick wouldn't he show a sign? I already miss him. You can check out my pics by clicking my image and go to pics. I could not upload them all. I...

I recently started a job at a pet store and there is a Blue Tongue Skink with MBD that they will be adopting out. The MBD is concentrated in the lower part of his spine near his tail. His condition has not gotten any worse since he has been placed in isolation and been given treatment. He is an...
Do chameleons eat until they are full or do they eat because they see prey? We just want to make sure that he eats enough and that we don't over-feed him. Our 3 month old veiled chameleon eats between 13-18 crickets a day. Is that okay or a little to excessive? We put them in a dish at the...
doing great
Hey just an update lewis is doing great. The temperature in his cage was a little to high. Took care of that and he is doing great. No more opening of the mouth. No more worrying. Thanks for the help...
Punish the deed not the breed. The person is liable for the dog. I would pay the price for damage that my dog did if she did anything, and so should everyone else. I agree with Heika in some parts, but I just think that people that think all bully breeds are deadly and only good for fights or...
