I'm using a re-purposed night stand. We pulled the drawers out of it and added a curtain, so now there is room for my cricket keeper, supplements, etc right there, but out of sight :)
Not worth your time in the least. Ever seen the bumper sticker that says "Mean People Suck"? Well it's true, and it's thousands of times worse on the internet. Facebook has a nifty unfriend function that I would have used right away on someone like that :)
Your setup is pretty similar to mine (lights, cage size, etc). I have a female so I don't expect her to get quite as bright as some of the others I see on here.
Anyway, I would look into one of those cool mist humidifiers if I were you. I have to run ours almost all day right next to her cage...
Is there any harm in freezing this stuff? I stuck a bag of chopped kale in the freezer over a month ago, just pull out what I need and run it under water to thaw it out. Seems to be working ok and it won't go bad... not sure if it affects the nutritional value though?
Such a great variety of colors and personalities between those three - can tell it even in the pics.
Please tell your husband that his work is being appreciated - some really great shots there! I especially like that first shot of Cooper - great balance and flow of lines between Cooper and...
Good job doing some research BEFORE you buy the chameleon.
I have never had an issue with crickets being noisy, but I simply buy a week's worth of crickets at a time from the pet store. It's a bit more expensive than ordering a bunch of crickets online, but I am also not having to deal with...
Best thing you can do is just put it in there and see what happens. I usually let the crickets free like you have been, but she also has a small feeder cup in her cage where I will put worms or veggies - and she just went to it and ate from it like it was no big deal.
haha mine sleeps in all sorts of weird positions too. hanging off the screen was probably the worst - don't know how she can hang on through the night while she sleeps.
that is so awesome. Mine seems to occasionally feel ok about getting on my hand, and other times doesn't want anything to do with me. I've been hand feeding her a lot lately and that seems to be helping.
I just threw one in with my cham (found one in my room) and she gobbled it right up. Then I decided to search (I know, should have searched first). But I'm curious to know if anyone else has fed them to their cham?
hmm I guess I need to look them up. The crickets from petsmart last about a week before they die - and I've tried feeding all kinds of things to them :-/
Fantastic! Thanks for posting! Right now I just have an 18x18 tile and the water conveniently runs to 1 corner and drips down into a small container, but not always - which makes a mess. I really need to build something like this.
