Hi Pedro,
I am by no means an expert here, but it's late and no one seems to be online, so i'll tell you what I know....
I guess firstly you shouldn't feed a young cham mealworms yet, maybe a small soft one a couple of times a week max as a treat, as they can cause compaction
What size...
He's a real handsome guy!!
I'm sure the gals will love him and like chameleontario said "keep that bloodline going" !
Hope my guy turns out with that colouration!
Best of luck...:)
LMAO, that is the funniest, Mantis police....I don't live in the US so it is quite amusing.
If I find one, it's food for my guy...
As FaunaBgirl says "So... you're taking your chameleon for a walk.... just minding your own business.... your cham's tongue flies out.... he chomps... chomp...
Yeah, no one has said how they offer the veggies to their chams! This is all text book stuff, but no true experience advice!
Can any of you guys offer us some advice as to how you sucessfully feed your cham veggies please?
Do you just cut them up and place them in their feeding cup? Do you...
I guess if that works for you flip and it keeps up the humidity, all's fine! You get to save water.... My guy takes nearly that long for the drinking response to trigger, personally I would prefer to spray for less.
When it hits summer here, I intend to mist more often during the day and was...
Hey Guys,
I hope everyone will bare with me as I start to make myself known, by asking probably obvious questions to all you guys who are way more knowlegable in raising chams, I have another question, please forgive me!
I am starting to see pics of all these chams having showers, very cute...
I have a flexarium with flextray and have the enclosure mounted on a timber base,(pic 1). I have cut a small slice in the plastic and flexarium and poked a nozzle type hose fitting which I have adapted so that it is flush finishing at the top, (see pic) which then enables the water to drain to...
Hi lonomac ,
I have just set up a PM60 literally 2 days ago and had the same problem...
What I found to be the cause of this was the INLET pipe ie reserviour to pump was not cut PERFECTLY square at the end as well as not being FULLY inserted into the pump inlet. I had to use quite a bit of...
Hi,
Here is rock backdrop in one of my morelia enclosures.
It is made with expanding foam (don't know what you call it in the US), then cut and sanded to shape.
You then apply a latex sealer, followed by spraying with paint and literally throwing different colours of oxide onto it, the...
Thanks Cherron. :) It's my first crack at a full size enclosure, hopefully with all the input from the learned people here and more experience with chams, I can only improve...
Cheers
Scott.
Nice work Will, I concur and as I am into my photography as well, although probably could not have worded it as good lol... I hope to post some pics on this site now I can contribute after acquiring such a wonderful creature!
Awesome pics in your gallery, that link you posted is stunning!
:)
Well here is the enclosure in question, just took a pic, it's alot easier to comment on when there's a visual.
Will or anyone please comment and give me some constructive critisicm please, as I am new to THIS species and still learning!
Thanks guys...:)
Well I actually did for the ficus, but i'm all for aesthetics and I didn't like to have all three plants jacked up to make them higher. I managed to cover the raised base of the ficus with some fake exo terra ficus but I didn't have enough for 2 more ie hibiscus and umbrella... I know very anal...
The thread was with the welfare of the cham as a priority of course!!! It was related to the UVB requirements of the veiled chameleon and was a MV better or a necessity over a 5% flouro, sorry if I did not explain myself a tad better.
Plants in the enclosure are secondary, although also...
My minds made up, i'll stick to the flouro's for now. I thought MV would be too full-on for a small cham!
Mathew thanks heaps for the reply, I should have explained the reason for my concern with no light reaching the bottom of the enclosure. It was more for the benefit of the smaller plants...
Hi all,
I need some advice please!
I was wondering what is the best suitable source of UVB for my veiled cham (3 months old).
I currently have 2x5% UVB flouro tubes and a seperate basking lamp, but was considering purchasing a mercury vapour lamp as well, as now I have moved my guy...
Hey,
My little veiled had the same thing, although it was on his belly. Look in my gallery, when popeye was 1 week old, you can see it just in front of his back leg!
I just removed it as it was something stuck, atleast that's what I thought. It was hard, rock like, but once removed it was...
