Mine comes to the front of the cage when he wants out (screen cage). When I start to open the door, he climbs up onto the door and up to the top. I then use either my hand or a stick, depending on his mood! Lol
I drill small holes in the end of the wood sticks then use fishing line to tie in the mesh. Or just tie a knot and run the fishing line thru the cage. It always helps having an extra hand.. I do use a few thumb tacks, but not many. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Thanks everyone! :) I never knew how rewarding it would be owning such a neat reptile. It's been a slight challenge getting everything just right on a daily basis to ensure that he is as bright and healthy as he is! But I'd do it all over again!! I love my Zeus!!!
This might sound silly, but I worry about feeding Zeus house flies.. Let alone bugs that I've caught from outside. Just can't take the chance.. #worriedmomma
How are the freeze dried ones? I'd rather feed him live ones, but can't seem to find any online..
P.s...I know house flies come in from...
Is it healthy for my chameleon to eat only greens? My make veiled is about 10 months and has been on a hunger strike for what seems like a month now.. I feed him collard greens every other day and sometimes times shredded carrots just to make sure he eats. But won't seems to touch the crickets...
I strongly suggest that you try something like this... You'll never get rid of those flies if the soil is constantly moist. I added a small bucket to catch the water instead. Then you can water when the plant NEEDS it! :)
You should leave the rocks off of the top for about a week or so till the top inch or two is dried out. That's where the flies lay their eggs; they love moist soil! After its dried, you might still have some flies, so you should then add a layer of corse sand or aquarium gravel on the soil...
