I would put a plant in the cage so he has hiding spots. It is normal for them to not eat when you first get them. Just make sure you keep offering food so he knows its available when he wants some.

I would definitely get your handsome boy to a vet. Swelling usually is a sign that something is wrong, and his toe kinda looks pinkish in that pic. And he looks nice and hydrated :)
