    Favorite Genus?

Had to go with Furcifer, for the verrucosus and Oustalets asvwell as the panthers. I've had Furcifer, Chameleo and Trioceros.

    Finally came this morning!!!

Hi, and welcome! It's common for them to take a couple days to settle in - you've already seen him drink a couple times, which is more than some people ever see (they can be very furtive about it), so I wouldn't worry about the drinking for now. When he goes to the bathroom, the urates (lighter...

    Chameleon bite

I've been bitten in anger by my newest guy, who doesn't like me at all, and by a cham who had wandered over into somebody else's territory and was trying to bite another cham. I've been bitten a couple times during hand feeding, when I was captured along with/instead of the bug. And I was bitten...

That should be enough to sell anybody on cresties; gorgeous animals and pictures! (But I'll just stick with my gargie for now.)

    Crazy weather

Here it is, January in the midwest, and I had the chameleon out for an hour today in 60 degree weather. I've always lived in the midwest (MN, MI and now NE), and am used to having one or two warm days in late December or January, but we've had highs in the 40s, 50s and 60s for weeks now, with no...

    can chameleons eat pill bugs

They can, will and do. Wild-harvested pill bugs may carry parasites (as may any wild-caught food), but wild chameleons eat wild insects and pill bugs without ever thinking about such things.

well cancer is back for the holidays

Keeping you and Nora and the family in my prayers. I know some very good people in Wisconsin who have been through cancer if you're anywhere near Ellsworth; if so, shoot me a PM.

    So friendly????

So, getting back on topic... some chams really do seem to be friendly. All of my chameleons have free ranged in the living room. The Jackson's was tolerant of human presence but mostly went his way and you went yours. My first panther was very friendly - I "trained" him by holding my arms in...

    Hi color pinky babies!

I think my gargie is about the cutest lizard possible, but I've kind of got to agree with you - the only time I really get to see him doing anything is if I have to turn on the light near his cage after 10. Miss Lily makes a strong argument for the Wonders of Rhacs (cresties), but I think she's...
