So i've been doing some research about Vitamin-A and figured out that allot of chameleons get eye problems due to Vitamin A deficiencies.
Without enough Vit-A, chameleons can have their nasal lachrymal ducts backed up causing their eye turrets to swell up. Sometimes people may think it's...
Sorry for your loss...I def know how you feel.
To be honest, a lot of things could of happened to your cham which were out of your control.
My first cham fought coccidia & pinworms, which didn't end with a victory. It's a tough parasite to clear up but people do it. To me your chams symptoms...
Not at all, From what i've heard feeders go nuts for that stuff...
It's a good 2-in-1 source for food/water. I have it myself but i haven't used it yet. Maybe I'll try it out today haha. You're supposed to read the instructions and mix it with water, then microwave it or something. Ends up...
I use a Canon T3i, haven't Invested into any lens yet. I plan on picking up a macro lens very soon though, just gotta wait it out because they're pricey.
But eventually I'd love to upgrade to the 7D :D
Def not what I was hoping to hear, sorry you're going through all this Max...
Has Walker had a recent fecal test? if not get one asap.
As for force feeding...Thats a whole different ball game. When i had to force feed jasper it hurt me seeing him struggle and stress out. My best advice is to...
Just noticed that aswell. Basking sounds fine with what you have it at.
But again, no need for heat at night unless temps drop down to 50's. 60's is comfortable.
Where are you getting this info from?
If you're not 100% sure on an answer try not to comment, it'll get the OP confused.
Only time a heat emitter should be used if your room/house gets below 45-50 degrees at night. But it should atleast maintain the levels at around 60-65ish.
Chams don't need any heat or lights at night. They're on a 12 hour cycle, 12 hours awake, 12 hours asleep.
When you have your lights set up, they should be on a timer. 7am on, 7pm off.
Having a night light will make it too hot for your cham and you'll run into a bunch of problems. Also chams...
Sorry for your loss, I just lost my first cham not too long ago. Glad you're giving it another shot...If you want some chams be sure to get them from the classified section.
I know Camimom is selling a clutch of High Turquoise veiled babys :)
You'd end up paying around the same you would at...
Lol no worries, Hopefully theres a show soon out here in Cali. Never been to one!
I tried checking their site but no luck with the tarantula vivs. Maybe I'll try and send them an email.
Inane enclosures. Those would be cool to have, but for $275 no bueno. I remember awhile back someone had a similar idea called "the can" but it didn't hang like this one. Maybe I can make it a project this summer to build something similar :D
As for the tarantula vivs, did you take any pics...

I think i'd prefere the 6500k just because everyone else who uses 6500k has 0 problems.
But if theres 22" T5 5000k thats just as good, I'm open to all suggestions aswell :)
Nice shots! What a great lookin female panther you got there. Females don't get enough credit on these forums...What camera do you shoot with?
And just a tip, UVB can't travel through glass. So if you want your cham to get full UVB from the sun it's best to let your chams bask outside :)
I have a 22" T5 6500k ZooMed UltraSun grow light, which is used for aquariums. I posted it on here before I bought it and a few members recommended it also didn't see a problem with it.
I remember my last cham Jasper would shut his eyes during the day and i thought it was because of the...

I was reading this a couple weeks ago and thought you may find it fascinating...
hah yeah, I think you wen't a little overboard on that old lady. You gotta think she could be retired right now but she's still working. Plus she had 4 other customers. Thankfully i've never worked retail, but I couldn't imagine.
She may of came off rude because she's, well you know...she's...
Nice! Glad to hear the good news.
Good thing you tackled it right away. Stick with the showers, and if any puss comes out like max's pictures use a soft warm qtip and gently run the stuff out. Then give him a good shower right after to help get rid of it.
Be sure to watch your cham in the...
