They sometimes love the spikes too. It will only over populate the enclosure if you put too many in. I normally open the lid of the container and let a few out at a time for my chams.
Shame this seems to happen, poor dude.
Pls post some pics, I would suggest a vet visit if it is flat. Don't wait for infection to set in. If the rest of the tail is not working then it may or may not come right. Don't take a chance rather have it checked out.
Welcome to the forum and congrats on your cham! The only advice I can offer you for now is research and learn. Thus forum is fantastic. Don't stress about your cham shedding it is normal. Allow the enclosure to dry out between misting, the humidity spikes are normal. It may take your cham time...
Hmmm, whats good for the goose is not always good for the gander....is that the saying? I would check the ratios tbh. Would love to mix my own but far easier to buy I guess. Are you ever sure you get what is on the label though? Devils advocate here :)
