geese- these temperamental girls :p I had picked up a female Jax from a guy who had to go out of the country - he said she was 1.5 yrs old - I think she was more like 7 mos - she was TINY - he also said she was bred  - she had always been a " hider" - so shy, hard to get to eat, all that good stuff, in the BOC, its like a feeding frenzy in there- they all come out of the tops of the trees when I walk in there with my deli of roaches , and wait to be fed- she always went the other way- I always had to find her to feed her - today, she was the first one to come eat from me :) - she had done a lot of growing the last few mos - and really come out of her shell - but here is my question - the guy said he saw them breed - could it be possible for her to retain the sperm still ? she is still small-ish - she looks nothing like all my other Jax either - she is a odd yellowis green ~ she has never even dropped slugs - I have had her almost a yr - I do NOT want her to have babies - is there any chance she could be gravid - she was never with Oliver either - but she is looking rather plump lately, and has not been eating any more than normal

Awesome that she's doing better:)

It's possible she could have held onto the sperm... I'm by far not an expert, though, I've just heard some crazy stories haha

I'm glad she is finally coming around to trusting you, but I dont know how long females can retain sperm, but surly not a whole year!!??

Do you have any pics of her, even though she's shy?
You know we love pics!

this is her just now- in her cage, and then outside - she just looks " different " ?
and she has these weird red dot/spots- at first I thought they were bites - they dont have the same texture as the rest of her skin - but I am just glad she is FINALLY settling in , and grew a bit - but she is also really long- idk- she is just different ~ but she will now get on my hand with out to much fussing , but I let her do it at her pace - she is a slow girl ;)

She is sweet, but she doesn't look gravid to me. I am not sure how long a jackson can retain sperm, but a year seems too long.

I also think a year is too long. Whilst not a jax this is a small gravid cham.
