    Why are Pygmy Chams Different?

What would you suggest is a better a cage? Just curious, was thinking of getting pygmies before but I don't think I can handle their short life span.

    pseudomonas, any good stories?

Good luck with your cham. I know Baytril is the drug of choice with large snakes such as retics and burmese pythons. They don't seem to have a negative effect on them. Hopefully it'll be the same for you.

    Seriously worried.

It looks like a burn, but I don't think burns cause skin to peel off the way you describe it. It sounds more like a mite infestation or some sort of retained skin that finally came off and took some healthy skin with it. These are just some suggestions though, never dealt with these problems before.

    Home Made Stick Insect Enclosure

Where do you get stick insects (I know you're in Canada, but I think it's illegal in the US). Yeah, I would go with a screen lid as well, for ventilation as well as the light. Congrats on the eggs.

    Home Made Stick Insect Enclosure

It looks nice, but don't know anything about breeding and keeping stick insects. I was going to say, those are huge insect eggs. I had to open another window to look at the picture again, to realize those were actually vieled eggs.

what the best pets store in LA

There's Medusa on Pico Blvd. in Santa Monica. They have a great selection of Reptiles, Reptile Depot in Chatsworth (only been there once to look for a cage for my snake) and there's Prehistoric Pets in Fountain Valley (orange county) that has a lot of interesting reptiles but don't know it they...

    Meet Jack Fischer

Here's my new male K. multituberculata (standard fischer). Here he's drinking water off a leaf. I wish I could take better pics of his whole body, but didn't want to disturb him anymore.

    My art...more like sketches ;)

You're actually pretty good. It reminds me of college. When you're a life science major all you do is draw pictures of slides and animal specimens which I always thought was fun. You just sit, draw and talk to your neighbors. When I was TAing, what everyone does now is take pictures with their...

    Portfolio update..

You need to work for National Geographic as a photographer! Those 3 gold medal and the annual gold trophy supports that. Have you considered animal photography as a career? Are those snake neck turtles?

    What to do with poo?

Oh, Dateline (or a show like it) did a special on the American Dream and the guy who started/owns Worm Poop was one of their examples. He's a self-made millionaire who came to the US from Germany to study college . They also interviewed the owners of Spanx (the butt shaping underwear), Panda...

    papertowels

Is there a reason you want to put something there? You really could leave it bare and just wipe the poop, dead leaves and feeders away as you see them.

    Your Next Chameleon?

I'm getting my Fischer's tomorrow. I voted "Other" because I've always wanted to try mountain species. Panthers get all the love :(

    papertowels

I would say from daily to every other day. You could just leave the bottom bare and wipe it off with bath tissue (toilet paper) and flush it down the toilet. Then wipe it with something like virosan or whatnot. Could conserve the paper towels for something else.

    Steam Cleaning A Cage?

I have a McCulloch and I really like it. It was the cheapest steam cleaner that had good ratings. It seems to do the job. A forum member brought up a point that it might not get to the critical temperature to kill coccidia though, which I can believe. I still rinse, wipe it down with clorox...

    Fischer's Chameleon (Kinyongia fischeri)

Now you guys have me worried and I don't even have my little guy yet. But I think the person I got it from is reliable, he was the only one with all positive comments/feedback from the BOI forums at faunaclassifieds. He also has a reputation of keeping his animals in a greenhouse for a while...

    Absorb water through skin?

I'm not a 100% sure about this, but I don't think they can. I think the keratin on their skin is on top of the epidermis and thus they couldn't absorb water because the beta keratin would be waterproof (and helps retain moisture). I think that's the reason why they're mostly dry and don't notice...

    Fischer's Chameleon (Kinyongia fischeri)

Just bought a fischers I just bought a fischers cham and was wondering what type of fischers it is. The person I'm buying it from said it was the standard fischers, which I think is the K. multituberculata, I was wondering if that is correct. I also think it could be the K. vosseleri. Could you...
