I personally like getting one that will reach almost the top of the cage (3.5-4ft). It made quite a difference from a small one.

If you mean a basking spot, get a 60W Halogen light at Walmart with a reflective hood. He should of had one already, assuming this isnt a new cham

It also takes time to get the colony growing. So you may be stuck with crickets for a while yet. You could consider silkworms though as their main food

Hawaii is an excellent place to do so... unfortunately most of us actually suffer from winter and so do our Chams :)

Some different feeders may help, silkworms, phoenix worms, roaches etc. And that is not a lot of food shes eating.
