I'm a fairly new owner and have a lot of random questions. I did realize owning Chameleons (2) isn't the same as owning a snake or a lizard-- I knew it was going to be somewhat costly and sometime time consuming but I find them fascinating and take good care of them.
I have a question about...
my small panther did that when i first got him, he was hanging upside down for the entire day and did other strange moves hanging upside down--- i haven't seen him to that ever since.
@reptileguy
my veiled didn't even touch the wax worms i have no idea. i was very frustrated when he didn't even eat one-- they all were moving. so I put the small plastic container of wax worms away and eventually half died and half turned into this small moth looking thing that flies and he...
This is great also.
How do you give him the shrimp? Do you put it in a tank and let the shrimp swim and he grabs it? Or do you cut up the shrimp and hold it with tweezers?
This may help with his colours: http://kilgourschameleons.com/products.asp

Check this female out-- it's a Female and they can be this colourful - because males are supposed to be more colourful I guess to attract females kind of like how exotic birds do.
I wondered the same thing. There is a special chow I think either on facebook or here, some guy here has a company that sells it. I'll find it, it was a few days ago, it was some feeder chow which will help your chameleon improve it's colours. I'ts not expensive.
I think it all depends on his...
I got 2- one is 6 - 7 weeks old and my veiled is 5 months now. the small guy needs small crickets and the big guy needs larger crickets. it's wayy cheaper than petco/petsmart.
I've seen one Chameleon in one Documentary it was shooting at a fish by a pond a little fish-- then I saw this one guy who put a small fish bowl aquarium in his Chameleon enclosure to keep it entertained and all the Chameleon does is try to grab it like a cat--- it must like it.
I don't think...
Hey Jamie1128,
I bought mine from Petco-- they rarely sell baby Panther chameleon but one of the store here had him from a Reptile show, they got it from a breeder. I didn't want to get it from Petco but I felt terrible and basically rescued him for $300 smakaroos.
He was only 5 weeks old...
idk man, mine just likes crickets and sometimes i'll give him wild caught stuff. i gave him wild caught flies but it grossed me out-- he loved it but i didn't think it was good.
I was wondering if anything thinks this is a good deal
last time I got it -- they were all alive, but I couldn't keep them alive for too long-- now I have proper housing for them, clear container w/lid, egg crates, heat pad, water, crystals, chow
Where do you get 5 to 6 different bugs? mine doesn't like superworms because they whip it's tail on my Veiled face-- and wax worms he won't even tough. He loves crickets-- i haven't tried the roach yet.
He likes things that fly. Somehow a moth was in his cage and he was mesmerized and was hunting it. I thought it would have been a treat. So far I've only given him 2 butterflies and he loved it. I probably shouldn't they are pretty but they die pretty quick. For some reason my guy here loves to...
