I have one R.brevicaudatus, its not so colorful but I think it's cool when they disguise as leaves, the patterns are neat. Mine is just 2 months old and so far has survived all my newbie mistakes so I'd say thier pretty hardy.
My NEW new setup
Ok so I was a tad bit stubborn about it but I decided to take all of your advise. I've just never had a plant before, or a chameleon so now I'm a extra newbie, it's a bit scary but I love my little Keroppi so I'm doing what ever it takes. So heres my new enclosure with a real...
This might be a dumb question but is activated charcoal bad or does it make a diffrence? I dont really feel like blending my own charcoal but I can onlyfind actived charcoal powder and not regualar.
I knew about the humidity but didnt think the little pygmy could tell the diffrence between real and fake, I didn't think it was that important. Newbie mistake I guess. Ok new question though, I just took apart my whole enclosure which upset her a bit and I've had to handle her a few more times...
This post reminds me, I was wondering when you have a screen enclosure dont the bugs get out? What if you have a baby and are using little feeders, I've never had a screen enclosure yet so I was just wondering if the feeders escaping is ever an issue.
Sorry If I'm a bit aggravated but giving me links to things I've already read doesn’t help. If you want to be helpful you could tell me WHY. That’s all I wanted to know. And I appreciate that guy is an expert but I don't see anywhere that it says those things listed are essential. I'm just...
Ok..I still don’t get it..... that list of "essentials" is just a list of what one guy thought would help be "an aesthetically pleasing environment for your chameleon(s) and a nice conversation piece." I don't have a lot of stuff on that list. Not that I'm against real plants I just don’t get...
I have moss and reptile bark at the bottom but the room I have him in doesnt have a lot of natural light and I'm sure a real plant would quickly die. Maybe I'll get one someday but I offer fruits and veggies and nothing I've read says live plants are essential. BTW I wasnt trying to impress...
So I updated my pygmy setup, it's all fake plants...I decided trying to take care of my pygmy AND a plant was a little much for me right now. I added lots more folliage and color, hopefully Keroppi appreciates it.
It's not hard to find Keroppi, I just look near the food :D
I'm...
I never though of myself as a reptile lover until one day at work a baby veiled came in and walked on my finger, I was done for. Convincing my boyfriend was a whole other story. We only have one other pet, the least pets of any pet lover I know! Luckily I ran across a free terrarium and found...
I was talking about the white thing near his rib cage but it seems to have mysteriously dissapeared today, go figure :p
I wonder what it was. Do you guys think he looks healthy otherwise, I've only had him a week and I'm so paranoid I'm doing everything wrong!
So I noticed this white bump thingy on my pygmy about 2 days ago, I tried to wipe it off with a q-tip but no luck. Is he shedding? Sorry I'm new at this, I'm not sure if I should be concerned, he seems fine otherwise.
I have a thermometer and hydrometer from them, the thermometer seems to be accurate but the humidity says it's 80-90 and my digital one says it's only 50-60. I'm not sure which to believe, their seems to be plenty of water droplets left in the cage even hours after misting.
pygmy's are so much fun, I've only had mine since thursday but so far so good. I got a tiny little CB baby so he's just eating fruit flies at the moment, none of the stores around here carry pinhead crix. I have a glass enclosure (pygmy's are apparently the only chams that like these). So far he...
So I got fruit flies but thier so small I cant see how many r in thier or if he's eating. How long can they go without food? I tried putting some other fruit and dried stuff in there too but I dont think hes touched it.
