He could be getting bored with the crickets. Do you feed him anything else? Mix it up a little with superworms, horn worms, silk worms, etc. You can also try just not feeding him for a couple of days; again he could just be over the crickets all day every day and doesn't want to look at them...
*sigh* someday! I love the foam cut-out look of the spines, the painted look of the spots and other colors. Someday.....
Good looking little critters @jpowell86!!
Hi! I'm in western PA too! Anyways, I can't say about panthers, but I just started taking my Gracilior out. Those kinds like it cool (mid 60s to 70s) so this is prime time for him. I have to mist often because of the low humidity. During the summer, i limit outside time so he doesn't roast, and...
Aaawwwwww she is so cute! They would make some lovely babies.
He should be shedding soon, but I think he looks a little dry in those pics because it was dry here (65 degrees but like 30% humidity outside that day). I brought the hand mister out, but he gets soooooo pissed off when I spray him...
Ventured outside today to soak up some rays! First time out this year, and we definitely made the most of it. Ollivander loved climbing the porch swing chain, but I finally got him to just bask. He got cozy on my arm... The wind kept blowing the plant when he was on it, freaking him out, so he...
Definitely good to never take on more than you can handle. Once you get things down to a schedule, it gets easier. The cost of the food does get pricey, so I hear ya there! But just keep at it, keep learning and providing your current cham with the best life possible, and you can only move up...
Aawww.... Ollivander is definitely growing up to look like his dad. Just gorgeous and absolutely stunning - and completely pissed off at cell phones hahaha
I Highly recommend getting one! They really are pretty easy. I have my MistKing and lights all on timers. I have to adjust the misting schedule and maybe run a humidifier during season changes to account for PA winter dryness; I run a window AC during summer. Just monitor and feed appropriately...
Thanks so much! I am so happy to hear that you pros approve of his condition haha also a little sad that the others are possibly not doing as well.
Anyways, he really does look like YingLong - a little grumpier during photo shoots, though  I agree, we definitely need to keep these...
'Bout that time for an update again @jajeanpierre
I weighed Ollivander a couple weeks ago and he tipped 80 grams! Still just rocking on.
And not too thrilled with the phone. He is extremely strong, though....Just check out those Popeye muscles! Haha
Just tonight he looked super cute...
I'm late to the party here, but this is an extremely entertaining thread! I'm so happy for you @jpowell86 and your beautiful cham. Absolutely gorgeous and beyond cool!!!
The more plants, the better! You definitely have a good start, but these little guys love to hide behind leaves and climb around on branches. You can't go wrong with plenty of horizontal branches and leaves for cover. Live plants are really helpful to keep humidity up, but there is nothing wrong...
I had just always let the crickets go in the cage. If it is the right size for their age (not too large for the size of the cham), they should be able to hunt the crickets. Usually I let the crickets go near the cham so he would see them and realize he has something to hunt. That is what they do...
Try just hanging out in the room close to the cage, maybe even with the door open. I did that with my gracilior for a while because he wasn't too fond of me. I would just sit and read so he could get used to me being around. After a few weeks, I would use my hand to place worms near him so he...
I found one at Aldi's! :ROFLMAO: Definitely didn't expect to find plants there, but they had a nice little assortment of schefflera and crotons. Sort of like the random aloe plant I found at a local grocery store - it is HUGE! Not in my cham cage, but the leaves are up to 2 feet long. You can...
