That is pretty interesting as far as the discrimination of objects and the utililty of the tongue for Oustalet's. I know there have also been some reports of the WC Florida specimens actually digging burrows underground during the cold winters that Florida had a few years ago helping them...
Once my guys hit about 12-15 months I went with every other day feeding about 2-5 adult male dubia, with occasional super worms and crickets. Here are some of the pics of my guys.
Alright... I think I went a little overboard on pics... hahaha - I really...
I used the regular supplementation schedule of calcium daily, d3 twice monthly, and multivitamin once monthly. Let me know if you have any questions, I'm happy to share my knowledge with Oustalet's.
I had a few Oustie's. They love to roam. I built some cages that were about 3'x5' and they still wanted out. My males would climb and rub the front for me to let them out. My wife would just open the doors and let them roam. We would find them all the way at the top of our window coverings and...
Welcome to the world of Chams!! You have a cute little guy there. Looks to me like a little boy (you can see all three horns starting to come in. I would also say you have a Trioceros jacksonii. They are the most common species of jackson chameleons. Females rarely get a horn and it is one nose...
I've got quite a few adults dubia roaches that I'm willing to sacrifice to help some fellow forum members out. If your local I can meet you in person, otherwise I can ship. I've been breeding dubia's for a few years now and I'm always willing to help out if you have questions with getting a...
I have quite a few medium/large sized dubia right now. I know people size them differently, but I consider medium/large to be no smaller than 3/4". I have about 2,000 I'm looking to sell right now. I will ship too (as weather permits) or local pickup in Phoenix, Az.
1,000 medium/large dubia...
I use aboricolas for my indoor cages. It's extremely easy to care for and grows very well under the Cham lights. I got mine from Walmart about 2.5 years ago and they are still going strong. Be careful not to overwater though. I really don't water mine with any regularity, just normal cage...
I have Oustalet's, but my guys will normally eat 2-5 large (1"+) dubia every other day. I have to limit my guys though cause they are little porkers and will eat anything that moves!!
I'm have tons of small (1/4" - 1/2") dubia that I don't need. I'm looking for local Phoenix, Arizona sales only right now, but may be open to shipping... I'm asking $35 per 500. PM or email me at [email protected].
If your concerned about color... Oustalet's probably won't do it for you. They are very dull by most standards and definitely when compared to some of the panthers out there. If you can get over this aspect of Oustalet's... They are awesome. I posted a few pics of my guys in the photo section if...
Yes, the big guy you gave us!! He been doing awesome! The smaller one with the half tail is also doing really good! He is pretty small in stature, but a great cham.
Here is the little guy (Rhino)
In my eyes... Its Oustalet Chameleons. They aren't delicate about the climate, will eat anything, and do just fine in low humidity environments. They are survivors and really are low care for, especially for those with little cham experience. It still requires work and is significantly more than...
