My mistings usually last about 5-10 minutes, by hand, about 3-5 times daily. I have a rather tall ficus that about reaches the ceiling, away from the room light fixture. it's a very upward growing tree so it doesn't occupy a very large sq-footage, maybe 2 1/2' x 2 1/2'.

I was just curious what everyone uses to prevent getting water all over the floor from mistings. My initial thought was using plastic sheets for interior painting, but it didn't seem too practical. Maybe making some sort of plexiglass "funnel" into the tree's pot?
