Thanks for the advice, everyone. I like cats, buy my main reason for wanting one is because there is a problem with field mice. I don't know how to tell a cat that it's ok to eat mice, but not chams.
The chams are in the living room, which does not have a closing door. The cages are...
I made a cake for my husband's (Can's) birthday.

I just thought I would give an update. He's in good health other than not being able to see much out of his left eye. He can successfully hunt slow-moving bugs and has crickets held right in front of him. I'm really happy with how well he has been doing for the last couple of months...
I don't really know. He keeps it closed most of the time. I've only ever gotten one glimpse at the eye since it ruptured. I don't see how he could possibly see very well when he's missing some eye fluid and the eye is deflated. He can't see well enough to aim at crickets.
On second thought, I think the eye ooze in that 2nd photo was messy silkworm eating. I believe his eye is now done oozing.
His vision in that eye will most likely be horrible. His eye is deflated which messes up focusing. He should be able to at least tell the difference between light...
Photos from today. They are just through the screen because I don't want to bother him. The discharge under his eye is the eye fluid still draining. Just after I put the camera down he opened the bad eye briefly. It was whitish like someone with bad cataracts.
He ate 2 silkies again today.
Yes. Dr. Krupka was the original vet that I went to. He referred us to Gary Riggs in Barberton. Dr. Riggs only sees reptiles that have been referred directly by other vets.
I will take some photos once Aegean turns around. He has his nose near a corner at the moment. I don't want to...
His eye ruptured yesterday. :(
When I got home from work his eyelid was loose and there was sticky goo on the outside of it. He is alright, considering. He still ate 2 large silkworms this morning and got another shot. The vet said to watch for more eye oozing after the eye itself is done...
His colors have been drab for a good month or two now, with the exception of traveling to the vet and getting injections at home. His left eye is closed all of the time so I can never get a good look at it. The last I saw it open was during yesterday morning's injection. It had not ruptured...
The vet just called to give results of the blood test from the other day. He found 2 types of bacteria: staph aureus and strep.
The vet was encouraged that his appetite has increased. If he doesn't continue to improve the vet may add an additional antibiotic.
He has had at home injections twice now. They are given in the muscle in his front arms, alternating arms. His eye still looks horrible but his appetite has increased. He ate 2 large silkworms on his own this morning. I put them directly in front of him on the vine so he just had to open up...
