Same problem
My chameleon fell yesterday morning, too! Only a short distance but she must've caught her eye :( it looks slightly swollen, and a very faint bruising mark has surfaced at the top of her eye. She keeps closing it a lot, but is also opening it regularly, and I know she can still see...
Possible
I suppose it's very possible that I could've looked at her/interrupted her in some way? I am unsure... She was digging around the bottom of her enclosure and the dirt wasn't hugely deep, and perhaps that was the issue? She didn't find it adequate enough for her egg-laying? I ordered...
Well...
I rushed Tomo to the vet. She was examined, and the vet agreed that she is egg-bound. They're giving her fluids to see if she will pass the eggs naturally tonight, but they say it's unlikely she will. If she doesn't, she will be operated on tomorrow, and promptly returning home. He said...
Thank you!
Thank you so much for your time!
I've booked an appointment at a reptile specialist vet for tonight. I'm too worried to wait much longer. It's quite a distance away, but the guy at the shop I purchased her from is making some calls to find someone to get me there... Fingers...
Oh my...
I have wondered if she is egg-bound myself... Can I take her to any vet? Or do I need to locate a specific type of vet? I think in Stafford my options of places may be limited... I am hugely concerned.
You're right, she hasn't... I was instructed by the person I bought her from to...
Health form
Okay, here's the form to add to my original post:
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veiled cham, female, 4 years old. In my care for 6 weeks. Handling - I handle her maybe a few times a week? Only when she willingly climbs on to my arm, or shows signs of wanting to come out. Only...
Thanks
Thanks for the response. I am a new cham owner, and I purchased her and her enclosure as a single buy. The fountain was included, and I cleaned it out just the other day, and realised how dirty it had gotten =/ upon realisation of this, I will be sure to clean it out very regularly. I...
I've had my chameleon for about 6 weeks now. She is 4 years old, and I am slightly concerned. The man I purchased her from tells me her behaviour is perfectly normal, but I'd like a second opinion.
Firstly, I can tell she's due to lay eggs, as she is wider, and the lumps are fairly noticeable...
Thank you!
Thank you very much for all your advice =] I have taken them on board! I've purchased some reptile minerals to dust her crickets with. The guy I originally bought her from instructed me that it wasn't necessary, but I decided against that. Even if it isn't, I'd much rather feel that...
Thank you for the responses!
Allencg101, thank you for the advice! I'll be returning to the shop for crickets on Saturday, so I shall see if I can purchase some of these supplements you've mentioned! I've had her less than a week so far, so haven't got into all this yet! Okay, I will try...
I bought a pet chameleon last weekend, a 4 year old female veiled. Her name is Tomo =]
I just wanted some advice on feeding, as I've received mixed reviews from the internet, as well as from different staff members of the place I purchased from!
I was first told to empty a box of crickets...
