Well, I'm going from eskimo to desert dweller!
Don't get me wrong, Alaska will always feel like home, and I'll definitely be back, but certain events are causing me to move to Tucson, Arizona.
Now, I have a retired sled dog. I'm not leaving him behind. He will have his winter coat by the...
Not looking forward to velvet season...not only do they look like murderers with the blood and flesh hanging off their antlers, but not the satellite dish!!! Moose are definitely bipolar. There was a tourist following the same bull, got just a tad too close and the bull charged him...luckily the...
That is in fact a baby laying on the edge! I'm still waiting for the mother and baby to come back so I can keep taking photos of them!
Bigfoot??
Anyways, here's more photos of a bull I saw this morning!!
Well, trying to keep everyone updated about my Alaskan experiences! Had a good opportunity to photograph a moose the other night, and I know some of you love em! (cough cough...Laurie <3)
Also have had a lot of time to explore Alaskan waters while fishing. No Salmon yet! Just Arctic...
I regret to inform everyone that as of this morning, the baby was lost :( We came to the conclusion that the mom spent so much time protecting it and chasing the other reindeer away, that she wasn't feeding it enough. I'm heartbroken...she was soo cute...
I just bought that book because of your post ^.^ lol It's not everyday you hear of Aniak being in a book! It is a wonderful place to visit in the summer though!
Well, went on a great Alaskan adventure this past weekend. Made the notorious drive from Anchorage to Fairbanks, made some awesome friends, and stayed at the Chena hot springs WHERE I GOT HIRED! So now I'm moving out of the village and onto the hot springs resort this weekend :) So if anyone...
No lie. I placed all my reptiles in the care of my bestfriends Bekah and Billy, and my ex Josh, dropped everything...and moved to Alaska. In a remote village. I've gotta say, I miss my reptiles very very much! But one day I will be back, but I needed a life break.
My transportation...
Is Stickytongue farms still in business? A friend of mine is getting into chameleons and I told them how great their supplements were, so she ordered some...It's been 3 weeks and no supplements, and both the numbers listed are disconnected?
I recently built this horse stable for Schleich, Papo, and Safari Ltd horses out of basswood and popsicle sticks (everything is hand made, even the latches and hinges!). I have at least 20 hours into it, and $50 of supplies. I'd like to sell it without the horses and tack (buckets, hay bags...
Has anyone ever done a formal study on the factors regarding Jackson's horn growth? I'm getting back into breeding Jax and I was hoping to put together a formal study myself.
The first round I'd like to study either types of calcium, or quantity.
Second round will be the other.
Third...
Well, I finally adopted out my last rescue, Charlie, to an awesome new home! So now I think I'm going to steer away from rescues (even though I'd never say no) and get into breeding Jackson's again.
Just picked this young handsom chap up last evening! His horns are a little crooked, but...
I doubt it's the lighting. The sun is more harsh than any bulb on the market. Plus I, and other keepers have been using 10.0's on cages 4 feet or higher, which is my general rule of thumb and it was never an issue. There have been problems with the compacts bulbs, but they are using a linear...
