    First shed

Admiral ackbars first shed I noticed he is getting some new colors in. Lol he has been using his hind legs to pick most of it off so far. He is very determined to finish. He has some orange and blue coming in it looks like.

    What would you guys do?

Yea I think I found one within 30 miles that deals with reptiles. I'm not sure if they handle chameleons. All the places I have called so far are very misleading. They say the handle "exotics" on their websites but none of them so far deal with reptiles at all.

    What would you guys do?

I doubt he would even make the trip if I had to send him back. He was very very black the other day when I went to check on him. I was pretty sure he was dead. I gently poked him a couple times and he didn't even move. He somehow sprung back to life though it gave me quite a scare.

    What would you guys do?

Yes of course I want him to get better and I would feel weird getting a replacement. Just upset that he was already like that to begin with. Didn't actually think reptmart would offer that. I was just speaking my mind to them the fact I have to stress and worry about him from the very beginning...

    What would you guys do?

I ordered two chameleons from reptmart about 3 1/2 weeks ago. I paid for juveniles btw as well.Admiral ackbar is getting bigger by the day and seems very healthy and active. He eats like a champ and is always well hydrated. Sheldon on the other hand was tiny when I got him. He still hasn't grown...

    Hi!

I'm pretty new to chameleon keeping. About a month so far. I did research though before I purchased one and still gather up as much info as I can everyday. I've learned a lot so far and enjoy learning new things everyday. These guys are very knowledgeable on here and should be able to answer...

    Weather

Its in the 20-30s in west Virginia right now. I came from Florida last year up near Pensacola so im not used to it. I walk outside and see snow and I feel like im stepping into f n Narnia. Oddly enough though it was almost 70 the other day in the middle of January?

Extra dome put to good use

This keeps the water nice and warm for misting. Its very effective until I get a misting system :)

Fred s starting to show color

Yea apparently reptmart sent me two completely different aged veiled. Sheldon is about half the size of the admiral. I payed for juveniles guess they just sent whatever. The admiral is a good 4 or 5 inches without the tail.

still at war with petco over mdb veiled, e-mail exchange

I was at a petsmart the other day. They were selling a "juvenile" veiled for $100. It was the size of my pinky if that. It looked like it just hatched. Do they think no one is going to notice these things?

New pics of admiral ackbar. Red bars maybe?

Does the grey on his casque mean he is about to shed? He has got quite a bit bigger.

    Cage improvements

Umbrella tree is finally repotted with river rocks on top. Also elevated it with the tray with drainage tray underneath. The drippers drip right on the plant so no more flooded cage. Got rid of the unnecessary extra dome light I also had on there. Not sure what I was thinking with that one. All...

    Drainage on reptarium cage

I scrapped the other idea for now. I bought this tray at lowes cut a square out big enough to cover the drainage holes in the pot and put a bin underneath. It also raises the plant a good foot off the ground and fills the cage out nicely. It now stays nice and dry at the bottom now.
