    Not hungry during Winter?

Currently the basking temperature is between 79-82f and the ambient temperature average is at 73f. Before Winter came around, the basking is between 85-89f and the ambient average is at 80f. Before Winter and currently; after the lights go out, the temperature drops 10-15f leading to the average...

What can happen if your cham eats too big of an insect?

Haha oh nothing happened! :D A friend of mine just gave me a few locusts and I was looking at them thinking they might be too big my little guy Kiddo. I have a 5 months old Veiled and his length without his tail is just about 5-1/2 inches and the locusts measures 2-1/2 inches. So they might be...

    Not hungry during Winter?

My 5 months old Veiled cham Kiddo hasn't been eating as much as he did before Winter came around. He usually average 10 crickets a day, now he's barely doing 5 or less. Is he losing his appetite because the weather/temperature is getting cold? I believe he's still growing, so I would like him to...

    massage the veil or casque

I would rub Kiddo's chin where his spikes are and he's starts to move his head upwards and one of his arms up then stays like that as long as I am rubbing. Almost like scratching a cat behind it's ears..haha :D

    Spraying for insects

What kind of species is your chameleon? Sorry, I couldn't tell which species you have in your avatar photo. What's the temperature outside your house?

    Chameleon having a nightmare!

Last night I was on my computer and Kiddo's(4 months male Veiled) cage is next to my desk. I heard a loud sigh so I went to the cage to take a close look at him; I saw him shaking left to right for around 15 seconds then he's still again. Right after the shaking, his black dots and stripes start...

Tips for a new cage? :)

What species chameleon did you get and how old is he? The all screened cage is a good idea, just put enough foliage for him to feel secure and lots of sticks/vines for him to climb on. Assuming you have a Veiled, maybe this would be helpful to you Veiled Chameleon Care Sheet. You can start off...

    Rear of Casque Folding Out

The thing is those lobes of his are permanently flared out. So I'm wondering if that's normal? I've searched so many different pictures of Veiled chams and I don't see any of their casque lobes flared out unless they're turning their heads in that direction.

    Rear of Casque Folding Out

I'm not sure if this is normal and I understand that the rear left and right can fold/bend..I look at my brother's Veiled's casque and the rear folds when he turns his head left or right, but both sides goes straight back when he's looking forward. Mine on the other hand just stays folded out...

    Eating suggestions

I would not recommend feeders that are found outside because they can carry parasites and other bacteria; I'm sure mostly everyone on this forum would say the same if I'm not wrong.

    left over shed

Not much to worry about from my experience, eventually the shed will come off by itself. The older your cham gets, the shedding gets slower.

Running a fan to gently blow air across the bottom of te cage

How is your misting set up? What are your hour intervals and time in each misting session? Do you have substrate of any kind and if you do, I would suggest removing the substrate and try to have a clear ground or some type of drainage system to help avoid puddles of water. From the problem I...

    My cham hates me now

I'm assuming you have a Veiled from your profile avatar. How old is your cham? Mine is 4 months now and he's turning into some teenage mutant evil chameleon! I am currently trying to work with him by leaving his cage open when I'm around and hand feeding him.

Exactly How Dry Does the Enclosure Need to be Before Each Misting Session

I also have a 4 months old male Veiled. I have my misting set for 3 times a day with one nozzle at 2 minutes per session and the humidity average is 50%, but that will depend on the room your cham is being kept in. You should get a hygrometer to maintain your humidity level to make sure your...

    Cage Size

Welcome welcome grumpymedic! This forum will be of great help on your cham keeping as it was for me! I can agree with carol, many keepers have raised their juvenile chams in an adult sized enclosure with great success. I raised Kiddo(2 months old male Veiled) in a 16x16x30, if that could give...

    When can you feed superworms?

Kiddo is about 6 inches without the tail length, can I give him adult(1.75-2 inches??) supers?

    When can you feed superworms?

I have Kiddo, a 4 months old male Veiled. I'm thinking about mixing some superworms into his diet, is he old enough for superworms? If he is, how do I come about feeding it to Kiddo? I've read somewhere that these superworms can do some biting??
