So, my little guy or girl will be born sometime in the next month. then, two-three months after, i will be picking him/her up and bringing him/her home. I'm looking for suggestions on the best things i can do to prepare for the arrival. I know little ones are a little harder to take care of, so...
so, i have decided to get another veiled cham. (but not for a few months!) i was just wondering if there were any reputable breeders close to maryland?
i've checked out all of the online sponsors, and i'm most impressed by veiledchameleon.com ..has anyone had experience with buying their...
thank you all so much! it means a lot. after having a good cry, i thought about it and i hope to be able to own another chameleon in the future. in the meantime, i will continue to grow my live plant and purchase more. ill tuck all of her supplements and stuff away until then.
thank you! i would definitely go through a reputable breeder if i were to get another. i've posted my set up on all of the sick-help! posts, and for the most part, i got good feedback. a few tweaks here and there were needed. and i didnt have my live plant in there yet.
i dont know how many of you have followed my troubles with my two chams that i bought from a pet store at repticon about a month ago. first, i bought a female, who i absolutely fell in love with the second i met her. then after some thinking, decided that i wasn't up for the egglaying and wanted...
here's some pictures from tonight. she opened her one eye for longer than she has in a few days.
the eye she still hasnt opened:

I've moved it on top of the cage to get the temperature up, but I was told she was too young to really be basking. That's why I had it far away from the cage. It was also making the temperatures too high, but now that temperatures randomly plummited, I have to find a new position for it.
she seemed to be a good weight up until this week. =/ im afraid to take her to the vet, because when i took my last one to the vet with significant RI symptoms, the vet said he had never seen such a little guy and he must just be dehydrated. the vet gave him fluids and he died the next day..
does anyone have any tips on getting her hydrated? i know the normal methods and the shower method but she's very young and not going for the water on her leafs

i have a digital thermometer with a probe sitting right where she usually sits. it was reading about 76 or 77, so it was probably a little more than warm sitting right under the bulb.
it definitely wasnt hot under the bulb, but it was warm. i guess too warm for her =/ she did a good job cooling herself off and i havent seen her go near the uvb again yet. i sprayed her leaves and she drank a little i think. im not sure she likes me to watch her drink. :p
