I have a Male Veiled Chameleon who is being treated for MBD. He is eating and climbing just fine, but I have noticed that his color has been rather dark lately. I did just make a move across the country with him, so the new environment may contribute to his new coloring choice.
He is still...
When I first got him, I was not as prepared as I thought I was, but now I've learned the proper things to do. I have a 10 UVB bulb that is on about 12-16 hours a day. I have talked with the lady at the pet store that has raised a few chameleons herself. She helped me set up his cage and diet...
I am feeding the crickets papaya, collared greens, and mustard greens. I am also putting Calcium dust with D3 on it every week plus some vitamin liquid by fluukers. His legs haven't gotten any worse, they healed up quite a bit, just not all the way. Yes, this is the same chameleon in my avatar.
So I have a Veiled who is 6 months old. He had a bone disease when I first got him, but I took care of him. He is now eating and climbing very well. His legs are still crooked, but I know they won't heal completely. I was wondering about something new I have recently noticed. He seems to have an...
I have a five month old veiled who had a bone disease when I got him. I took him to a vet right away and I was given instructions on how to properly care for him. He's had all his prescribed medications and I believe I have doing everything right for him, but his legs haven't straightened out...
thing is, I have offered all sorts of prey, he just refuses them. I put meal worms in a couple times and every time he just stared at them and hissed until I took them out of his cage. I haven't found any other bug he likes eating.
Thank you! good to know! I'm a first time owner, and I live in a place where reptiles aren't well known, so I don't get much advice from anywhere but you guys on this site. I'll be sure to keep him off the carpet. I do like to let him out, he climbs to the door and tries to get out every time I...
I take him out pretty often and let him roam around my room, he loves to climb my walls and stalk around my floor. I keep an eye on him the entire time, but he seems to be interested in flicking his tongue at everything he possibly can and chewing on it if he can pull if back to his mouth or...
So my male 4 month old Veiled Chameleon is trying to eat everything he lays eyes on. Just yesterday he managed to chew on a bracelet, an eraser, cough drop wrapper, a frito, a sock, a blanket, and anything hidden in the carpet he happened to see. Is there something wrong with him or is this just...

Hi everyone!
I was wondering what the best pH and chlorine levels are for a chameleon's drinking water. I want to know if my tap water here isn't too off. If it is, I want to be sure I get him better water ASAP.
Thanks!
Thank you SO much!!! I really appreciate the help. When I first thought about getting a chameleon, I knew he was gonna be a lot of work, but I didn't realize all the different information, and strategies it took. I am loving the hard work though, It is making me feel like I am actually making a...
Hi everyone!
I am a new chameleon owner. I just recently purchased a male veiled chameleon. There are a few questions I had and so far this site has been REALLY helpful so I was hoping you can help me out.
I read somewhere that you're supposed to turn off their heat lamp at night. I...
