My new little Jackson friend did such a kind little favor for me this morning. I sleep in a little later than him and when a cricket started chirping really loudly and woke me up it was just in time to see him snatch it off the wall and give me silence for a little bit more snooze time :) He's...
Well I've only had him for 3 days now and he seems to be sleeping less and less each of the days. So I think I'll really have to judge after he's been around a little longer. He's really very skittish still. But he seems to be slowly adjusting. Guess I'll just have to watch for a bit longer and...
Ah crap I just noticed something. I thought the night light I was using was 60 watt. It was a 100. Same as the day light. Crap. Maybe that's why. No temp difference between the night and day is confusing. I could it was a 60. Should never trust what info you get from your mother about her old...
So it's normal to do a little cat nap during the day? Like if there is a short little half hour to hour nap in the middle of the day that isn't something to be too concerned about?
I do use warm water and have it set as fine as it will go. Just glad the umbrella plant gathers some of it up on the end of many of the leaves so they stay wet for awhile.
Ya that would be pretty bad. But I would have had a heart attack the first time :P
Just got a 1 1/2 year old Jackson's yesterday and so far he absolutely hates when ever I open up the cage and mist. I don't spray near him but he just go into a bit of a panic mode when ever I start to mist. Is that just from the new cage jitters and will get used to it or think it's something...
I'll keep away from hand feeding attempts for now. He's very skittish for now. And my fears were for nothing. I have never seen those little guys climb like that. They go right up to a convenient feeding height when climbing up the screen. Just have to monitor how many are in there so they don't...
Just got my new little Jackson's buddy at an expo today. He's my first chameleon and just adore him already. Named him Tweak since his nose horn doesn't point perfectly straight. It leans very slightly to the right. So far he really seems to freak out a bit when I mist. Even if he is no where...
So those cages have decent ventilation enough though no screen sides now? Haven't seen one in person just curious. Do they have some small holes in them or something?
Crickets are that good at climbing? I didn't think they would ever leave the ground in a case like this. If they climb then I won't feel so worried about it. Although now I'm wondering about the sneaky little suckers getting out on me...
They aren't getting out of this cage. Not unless they can jump over the 12 inch barrier I built into it or bite through the screen. But all this worrying is making me wish I had gone and done a all branch system with more hanging and trailing kinds of plants instead of one big main tree type of...
Really I am just worried because I've trimmed the plants up a bit and they still create a pretty good effect of blocking the light down there. So I'm just worried that they won't go down there unless they are starving and I don't want that to happen to them
I'm getting my first chameleon in a couple of days. Still not sure if it will be a Panther or Jacksons. Depends on what I see at the expo and who really jumps out at me.
I was wondering how well anyone might think they will do hunting in my cage. I left the bottom somewhat empty so if they go...
I'm hoping mistking will be there too. I know I'm going to get one but waiting a few days to see if I can cut out the shipping cost would be nice. Save about $25. Already spent far more than I ever first imagined it would be to start from nothing
The bottom are some nice square foot brown splotchy tiles that look kind of like dirt I happened to see at the store and just loved. And easy to wipe clean.
I wanted something that could make a simply structure to hang vines and branches off of and happened to watch by the pipe section and had...
