I'm in northeast Ohio. Would a 35W fixture and bulb be adequate to replace my 5.0 and 60W blue daylight bulb? I have a hibiscus which is not doing too well under the current lighting. How much more should I expect it to cost to run?

I got my cham at the beginning of this month and one week later he shed. Now two weeks later he is shedding again. Is this normal growth for an ~11 month old cham?

All this talk about beardies has sparked my interest in owning one now! It might sate my need to try to train my cham to be more 'likeable'. :D Good luck with your project with your child. That, after all, is more rewarding than the pet regardless of which you choose!

Ugh. There is no information on the calcium label just a guideline of how much to use on insects or fruit.

Yeah, I know, but I don't know what is a normal dose. I haven't used any vitamin powder as of yet and didn't receive any from the former owner. I was hoping there were others using multi vitamins w/D3 and forgoing the calcium. I'll just have to read the labels and wing it unless I am told...

I have my cham enclosure in my bedroom on a bureau next to my TV with no ill effects. He goes to sleep the same time every night and sleeps through the night no problems.

Can I forgo using a calcium supplement w/D3 if I us a multi vitamin with D3? I don't think the multi vitamin contains as much as the calcium does so I wasn't sure if I should use both, one, or eliminate the multi vitamin w/D3 and get one without. I just don't want to intoxicate my cham.
