I was actually thinking about the amount of water/humidity being a contributing factor. He doesn't care for the misting, frankly he reacts how anyone would react getting sprayed. Doesn't run to it, or from it.
First shed was last month, now this one - I'll try to locate a good local rep vet...
Appreciate the insight, I'll adjust the supplements based on your input. My Acradia bulb is actually coming up on a year next month so I'll just replace it now. His casque isn't overly fat so I don't think he's over weight.
Hello Everyone,
Looking to get some help....
Last month my Panther did not shed the top of his knees and a spot on his body. I get him out in the sun for about 30 min 1- 3 times a week, during his shed I do a 10 min shower prior to outdoor free range.
He shed again a couple days ago but...
Looks good, I also have a carpet (CB), really different from owning a panther. My carpet is always on alert & tries to hide, my panther on the other hand walks on out his cage as soon as it's open.
Id like to breed them, but I need more experience to really feel comfortable doing it. I couldn't find a CB carpet breeder on the west coast, so maybe it's a biz opportunity. LOL.
Once I researched Carpets I think they're undervalued as well. Plus they only live for 2-3 years max...so it's a...
After a couple months of prep & a slight Fedex scare....
My 2 1/12 month old Carpet Chameleon from Frank Payne arrived. Thanks Frank!!!
He's still getting settled in so I didn't want to snap too many pics. I wasn't able to get any photos that display his colors but he's already displayed...
Sorry if this is a newbie question...
What is the best way to feed dusted Bean Beetles & Fruit Flies? Do you let them free range in the enclosure? Cup Feeding? I have a full throttle feeder hanging in his cage.
Obviously I want to avoid small insects all over my house...if possible.
Thanks,
Here is the link that used, this project could get messy so just clear out space. As long as you let them sit for a day or two then rinse them it should be okay. I haven't had issues with them breaking down.
If you don't want to use the store bought ones or sticks from outside, I just made DIY vines with burlap, silicone & coco fiber/moss. Saw a vid on youtube, really easy and cheap to make. You can make them any size & length you need, here's a picture of what they look like in my enclosure.
So the bottom of my enclosure is mostly covered by 4 individually live potted plants, I've put drainage & charcoal in each of them & I was debating on adding springtails. I'd like to have springtails act as enclosure janitors & I'm hoping most of my cham's waste falls into one of the potted...
After a couple weeks of work I'm just about done with preparing a Carpet Cham's enclosure. Hopefully by the time I'm able to get my carpet the plants have grown to provide more cover. I know substrate is a sin, but everything you see is great stuffed & siliconed down. If it proves to be a...
I was thinking about keeping my panther chameleon outside, until summer time. but I'm curious about a few things. Any help would be appreciated.
First off, I live in Sacramento California. The weather this time of year can range between 45 degrees overnight and 85 degrees during the day...
Appreciate the replies, I'm thinking they're his resting colors. If he's a ambilobe, tamitave, ambanja or a mix as long as he isn't stressed is my main concern.
Hate to sound like a newbie (but I am) would these different locales change his care requirements?
