My male is trying to scratch the net underneath the UVB light

Approximate price for Solarmeter 6.2 is $200 on Amazon. With lamps costing upwards of $25. and guessing at the exposures we are getting. I would say that is a pretty good investment for peace of mind. So many factors about the distance from the lamp to the exposure spot and any screen, glass or...

    First vet visit

Basking bulb I have a 50 watt reflector at about 10" to 12" from the branch and a thermometer at my chams back level. It reads mostly about 87 to 95 degrees depending on ambient room temp. Usually below 84 degrees. In winter I have a ceramic heater to keep habitat temps up. I prefer the...

Does anybody know what this is?

Has it gotten any larger? Has it gotten any larger? I would keep an eye on it and have a vets # on hand. Also there is a form or questionnaire here to fill out when asking health related questions. Best of luck.

    Licking branches

touching the branch not licking Does anyone understand chameleonese? I have read these posts in search of translations as to what my cham is trying to tell me. He touches his tongue to the branch he is on. He is not licking it trying to get water. He knows where that is mostly...

    How to train panther chameleon.

making friends All of the above suggestions are good. I also think as others have said that they go through moods or a comfort adaptation. Most importantly try to approach them from below. I usually stroke under my chams chin from nose to paws and he will lift a paw and allow me to put a...

Why is my Veiled Chameleon trying to eat my hair?

eating hair = friendly He likes you.:) Feel honored that he crawls on you comfortably and probably is not actually eating your hair. Mine does the same thing, but just nuzzles through my hair. You are blessed with a friendly cham. I know others here who complain about the "unfriendliness...

I'm having trouble keeping thermometers attached to mesh enclosure.

Hanging a meter I leave the sticky pad alone and use a very thin wire, stainless is best. I use bare copper about #18 or #22. Thread it through the Velcro pad leaving about two inches on each side. Bend the wire 90 degrees at the edge of the pad and thread it through the screen. bend it again...

Monsoon rs 400 still working well Mine is working perfectly for over 6 months. No open top. Good pressure to over 6' high sprays very well. Plus I bought it on a good sale in a store. Much cheaper and faster than the Mist King. Which was my first choice from reading all the report here on...

    DIY cork bark feeder cup

Most natural feeder I have seen yet Wow, great job! That is the most natural looking feeder I have seen yet. I can see how the cham would love to limb all over it. I am going to try to copy that for my guy. He is such a pain with the plain old dish cup that he will hardly use. So spoiled...
