Thought I would share a video with you all of my panther eating a hornworm: link to video
You can see him hesitating once or twice before he really goes for it - he doesn't like my phone :P
O_O Yeah I really hope you're right. I'm looking inside the cage (there are a lot of plants in there) and trying to find the leaf....no sign of it so far -_-
So...last week I made one of these leaf dripper things with a silk material fake leaf...because my chameleon wasn't drinking enough water. I was so happy that he took to it and it worked....up till yesterday. This morning I noticed the leaf I glued on...is gone! and I THINK HE ATE IT. If...
I'vent done it before but I know some of my friends have health insurance for their dogs and cats, and so I looked it up and here's a company that does that kind of stuff: http://www.petinsurance.com
I wouldn't worry too much about the super worms and mealworms, they can turn into beetles and you can breed them or feed them :)
but the crickets can be a right pain.
I've been using small sticky traps for my apartment (not in the cage) and they've worked quite well. They're poison free.
If...
That's awesome. I've been considering getting insurance for my chameleon, but wasn't sure if it was an absurd idea...would you be willing to tell me what rate you have?
I use bug burger as a staple food currently. I will throw in extra vegetables and fruits though.
Has anyone here tried mixing say, bug burger and cricket crack together to make the jello food for their feeders? is that even a good idea?
As long as you have those visual barriers you mentioned, whatever they are, you should be fine! I have a snake and a cham too! They're in different rooms though because my chams free range area is in the same room as his cage, and it wouldn't be convenient in my case to make sure the cham...
Yup he could reach the edge of the tub so I will definitely keep an eye on him when he's out and about. I'm glad he's spending less time on the mesh though, he was breaking his own nails sometimes :(
...and I think he likes it a lot :D

I picked up a ficus tree at a local greenhouse - the trunk is braided loosely so I could easily link it up to one of the vines in the cage. Next to it is a hibiscus and they're both sitting in a tub I got at Lowe's.
I noticed that he...
A cap, like a screw on cap for bottles? I'm curious as to what this setup would look like. I'm having similar problems getting my guy to drink while i mist, and want to make sure he's hydrating.
Hello! What experiences have you had with feeding your panthers fruits and veggies?
I have not yet tried to feed mine (1 yr old), and I do not know if he has had them in the past, since I got him when he was about 8 mo old.
I've heard that panthers generally don't eat as many fruits/veggies...
