Yeah Im not going to handle him just yet I want to make sure hes comfortable with everything else before I introduce myself!! Cant wait to watch him grow :)
Hi Everybody!
I picked up my 3 Month old ambilobe yesterday!! hes adorable. I'm curious to hear from everyone thoughts on first few days in a new place. Hes pretty intimidated by his new cage. Its 2x3 feet, regular mesh chameleon cage with great UVB and UVA light bulbs that make a 80 degree...
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! it is so uplifting to hear your advice and thoughts. Here is what I can tell you about her. She is moving around, slowly, throughout the day from one side of the cage to the other which I take as a good sign that she can still move. This makes me believe she is okay with the...
Just continue to give her fluids and food shots...or he can hospitalize her but its still a very small chance it will help her recover since shes aleady being treated with the medication
I know... Im doing everything humanly possible to help her out because I love her so much. She just looks so miserable all the time I was hoping that if i could find a way to hydrate her I wouldnt have to stress her out by taking her to the vet so she can at least be comfy in her cage
Shes been to the vet 4 times in the last 2 weeks she has pneumonia but is still only 3 months old and having a really hard time getting through this :( She is on Fortaz which is to cure the pneumonia but it is known to dehydrate.
She was diagnosed with pneumonia almost two weeks ago.
i have taken her back to the vet for fluids twice now but in between visits i try to do what I can from home. i have a humidifier next to the cage which keeps humidity around 70% and I warm mist 2-3x a day. She is being injected with...
Thanks ok its drier now in between. is it ok that I am trying to drop water in her mouth? has anyone heard of them choking on water if they aren't trying to drink and you force water in?
Ive taken her to the Vet twice for fluids so far and it helps her for 2 days and then its back to this. I am trying to drip pedialyte in her mouth when she opens it so shes still going to the bathroom but I just dont see any sort of improvement
This is her currently I had to put the towel there just to give her something to rest on since shes struggling with the vines....its breaking my heart :(
Everyone I have spoken to says to keep the humidity rather high since they are tropical creatures but yes, the humidity has remained around there the entire time i've had her, about 2 months.
Thank you for the responses!! The vet, Dr. Antin of Westlake Village CA came super well reccommended. He said to keep it rather hot in there as chameleons like to "burn" the sickness out of themselves. I have a humidifier next to the cage so it stays about 70-80% humid. I just was hoping someone...
Hi everyone
My veiled, Matcha, has ben diagnosed with pneumonia by an exotic reptiles vet. I took her in about 2 weeks ago and we tried doxycyclone. when that ddnt work, I returned 2 days later and started a Fortaz treatment where she is injected every 3 days. It has been about a week of this...
