I thought so too. I took a harder look at the pic and figured his veil was hiding behind that branch and maybe his color was a bit distressed due to just being brought home.
Okay I will definitely check next time I visit Petco or PetSmart. Thanks for the info! And I believe he is doing better. He has not grabbed himself since I've changed his viv around and not as many crickets in the cage as before, from what I have noticed :) Although, I'm not sure if you saw my...
Age is hard to tell because it really just depends on how well they were cared for, genetics, and it isn't too good of a pic to really guess! They grow at different rates. If you could take a couple more pictures, I'm sure another person would add to your post and give a well-educated guess!
If that is a veiled, it looks like you have a boy :) you can tell by the little spurs he has on the back of his back feet and the small buldge under his booty!
Yes I had his X-Ray very recently, bones and density were perfect and strong! And as for black soldier flies, do you know where I could get some - not too many? I have never heard of them and I live about 15 minutes away from Detroit in Michigan, so I don't know if I can get them here. As I have...
I have tried maybe 2-3 different UVB bulbs and then when the vet asked me about it, she eventually just told me to get a bulb that was both UVB AND UVA, and so I did. I do not remember the exact brand, but I know it is a popular one. Zilla/Reptisun/something along those lines! I believe I...
Thank you for your kinds words, Opheliaeatsbugs! I have tried horn worms before, but he just lets them crawl on him or crawl around his viv. Will not even try to eat them even with as slow as they go! Sad I can't use dubias though :( My boyfriend's mom does not agree with having roaches in the...
Will do, I have had something in his viv similar to this, and he has done well with it when he actually decides to eat the worms for once and not waste them! Any ideas on keeping crickets in something so they cannot run or jump from him? He isn't as mobile as almost all chameleons, so he just...
He seems to be doing a lot better than we was before. He has not grabbed himself that I know of because he has bushy plants to kind of chill on. As soon as I put his plants in his viv, he started drinking and continues to drink! I have not really seen him eat anything. His crickets stay at the...
I will do the best I can, given I want him to have the best life possible. After putting those plants in there, with so many other things to grab onto, I woke up to him at the bottom of the cage, because he grabbed himself again this morning. I will just have to really baby proof his cage the...
Alright, I will try this! Anything I have tried to put on him to cover that wound, such as even horse tape to where it sticks to nothing but itself, he acts as if his leg is paralyzed and just drags it around... so I was either thinking I hurt him, or he cannot move his limb because the tape was...
Okay all, thank you SO much for the help! I will definitely get those wounds clean and moist ASAP. My little guy is sleeping at the moment so when I get home from work tomorrow, I will work on this! I also changed my misting schedule to suggested! Also, I went out after work today and rechecked...
Yes, you are right. As of right now, he has mobility issues, sores that will not heal and no appetite... I was running my mister the way my vet had told me. The mistking is very new to me and I was following some of the things I had read on here. That is my fault, I guess I read some wrong info...
I have moved him to 2 different areas and he still does it. I wish I could get a video of it. Not only does he grab himself, but sometimes his whole leg almost stretches out, trying to find a branch right in front of him, that his front limbs are already on... I can try to take a picture or...
I just want to take the time to thank everyone for the replies and suggestions I have been given so far. This definitely hasn't been easy for me. It has been one of the toughest things to watch him struggle with whatever is happening with him, knowing I cannot do much more than what I am doing...
